I shivered, the words, drawing my focus to the Midnight Fae. He almost appeared pained, his expression radiating his inner conflict. He wanted to tell me to run. But part of him also seemed to want me to kneel, tolickhim just like Az had said.

I wasn’t sure how exactly I knew that.

Instinct, maybe.

The glint of lust in his eyes, perhaps.
