Page 106 of Hell Fae Captive
Sadist,I hissed back at him, my back nearly bowing off the leather cushion behind me.
Masochist, he returned.
I swallowed. He wasn’t wrong. But I didn’t mind playing both roles, something I reminded him of as I dug my nails into his neck.
Camillia’s face lit up on the screen once more, her gaze still holding that steely glint to it as she evaluated the wider tunnels—tunnels that were large enough for the Minotaurs to move through.
She could try using a spell to manipulate the wind and blow light in all three directions to find her escape, but she clearly didn’t want to use anything I’d given her.
Thus, the secret to this one would require faith.
That was the whole purpose of the first trial, though. To test each candidate’s endurance and emotional intelligence.
My heart dropped as Camillia started down the wrong path.Shit.
CHAPTERTWENTY-FOUR
MELEK
Ty stilled.What is it?
She’s going the wrong way.If she continued that way, she would disappoint the Minotaur hunting her.
And a disappointed Minotaur tended to use his teeth.
“Camillia,” I said, my jaw tight.
She paused as if she could hear me, and given that we were bonded, maybe on some level she could.
Ty used his teeth again, warning me not to interfere too badly. But then he laved the tender skin with his tongue, soothing away the pain in the next minute.
Now who’s playing games?I asked him as goose bumps pebbled down my arms.
The intensity of watching Camillia, of needing her to succeed, coupled with Ty’s expert mouth, was quickly bringing me to the brink of madness.
I couldn’t tell if I wanted to shout in frustration or come or do some manner of both at the same time.
Except…
“She’s…” I narrowed my gaze, noting the blister on her lip as she sucked it between her teeth. “Fuck, she just needs to use that damn spell.” Why wouldn’t she cool herself? But at least she seemed to be battling her decision.
Every path she’d chosen thus far had been founded on logic. This one she’d clearly chosen blindly. It might have seemed like a fifty-fifty chance, but these final tunnels were spelled.
If she didn’t know how to overcome the spell, she’d be lost and eventually become dinner to a Minotaur.
She slowly crept back to the crossway again, her gaze darting from side to side. That tattered dress slipped again, revealing her breast entirely and drawing a groan from me. “Her tits are fucking perfect, Ty,” I told him, losing myself to the sensations again. “And she’s… she’s scenting the air again.”
Searching for the cheese, he murmured.Such a good little mouse.
Yes,I agreed.Yes.
Because fuck, he was slaying me, his pace having picked up once more, matching the thudding rhythm of my heart, and demanding I stop delaying the inevitable.
As though Camillia could sense my impatience, myneedfor this torment to end, she dropped her torch and let it sputter out.
Yes,I repeated.She’s figuring it out, Ty. She’s… she’s… almost… there…
Only a fine glimmer remained, which was exactly the amount of light Camillia needed to be able to see the real tunnels around her.
