Val purred as I unbuttoned the bodice of my dress, letting it fall to the floor around me before slipping out of my underskirts too.

Lachlan covered his mouth with his hand as I stepped out of the mess of dresses, left in nothing but the silky red bralette and red silk underwear that was snug and lacey over my rear. It rode up my crack a bit, but Yasmin said that’s just how it was supposed to fit.

By the look on Lachlan’s face, I could tell he liked it. All of it. A lot.

“Wow,” was all he managed to say, with a cough and dry throat.

Feeling bold, I turned so he could see the back, looking at him from over my shoulder. “I think it’s a bit much, don’t you?”

“Not at all,” he said, his voice cracking, causing him to clear his throat. “Not at all,” he tried again.

He slowly moved forward, his fingers tracing the outline of the outfit, a soft moan leaving me from his touch.

“Come,” he whispered in my ear. “Let me get a closer look.”

“Bite it,”Killian growled. “Just a nibble.”

The second Lira stepped out of her dress, he went wild, telling me to eat her in every way imaginable.

I'm usually the one he tries to keep in check around her. Now the tables are turned.

Right now, staring at her from behind, he’s mentioning every red-colored fruit there is, telling me to see if she tastes like any of them. The red lingerie is bringing out his wild side, making a hunger build inside of him.

That hunger was in me as well. Cherries, strawberries, apples; I don't think any of those could come close to being as sweet as my Lira.

I was tempted to see for myself. I’ve never been more tempted in all my life, but I just got her comfortable with me. I was not pushing her or acting like a wild fucking animal. Not yet, anyway.

After leading her to the bed, I slowly and deliberately kissed her neck, making sure the bond she felt with me kept her relaxed.

Killian and I talked at length about this all day while we were making sure this new wing of the castle was completed. We talked about ways to help her not to be triggered. Trust can only take you so far when you have been through the things she has been through. Using the bond to keep her relaxed and at ease was what we thought would work best.

Easy conversation, easy dinner, easy dancing as I softly hummed in her ear; I want everything about tonight to be easy for her.

Nothing in her life has been easy, me being her mate the least of things.

Tonight, more than anything, more than I want to even mark her or finally come together as one, I just want her to feel at ease. If I can achieve that and nothing else, I would say the night was a success.

This outfit she is wearing, though…..

It wasn’t helping me maintain my easy and calm attitude.

“Just a lick. Just bend her over and lick her from rump to neck,”Killian continued on, making it hard to keep my self-control.

“You have to calm down, or we might scare her, you beast,”I grumbled back at him.

He mumbled to himself, but tried to recede enough so I could concentrate on my beautiful mate once again. My beautiful, very sexy and desirable mate.

She was whimpering and letting out soft moans as my hands gently skimmed her waist, and my lips lingered on her neck.

“I love you, Lira,” I whispered in her ear when I felt my own body reacting. She was going to feel it pressing against her, and I didn’t want her to freak out. “I love you so much, no matter what. If you need to stop, or if anything starts to feel overwhelming, tell me. I’ll stop right away and just hold you the rest of the night.”

She turned around, wrapping her delicate arms around my neck. “I’m ready, Lachlan. I love you too, and I trust you.”

I could see it in her eyes, the conviction in them, and I knew she was telling the truth. I could feel it in every touch, every breath, every action of hers that she really did love and trust me. At last. It’s been a hard road, but I got from her what I wanted most of all. Her love and her trust.
