Page 114 of Forever My Siren Luna
“That must be what I felt this morning,” Cedric said.
That’s what I felt too.
If she is cut off from Val, she won’t be able to fight. She won’t be able to call for help again, or do anything to defend herself.
I’m seething. Killian has been growling in my head nonstop, ready to take the heads of Wayne and every warrior he brought with him.
“How did they escape?”
“On horses first, Alpha,” Percy replied. “We were almost caught up, but then they abandoned the horses and must have shifted. The tracks were those of their beasts. Percy is with a team, hunting them now. When I heard your voice in the link, I turned back to meet you and take you back on the hunt with me.”
“Let’s go then,” I sneered. A ripple moved up my spine, ready to shift and take off. But then, a voice echoed inside our heads.
“Delta! Delta, damn it, can you hear me now?”Gerald growled out desperately. His voice started out soft, then clicked fully into the pack mind when he drew closer to the pack.
“Gerald! Did you find her? Did you guys save the Luna?”
Killian snarled, waiting for the news. Gerald must have been with the hunting party.
“Uh, I don’t know if she still needs saving, Gamma. Percy told me to bring you back. We found something, but don’t know how to take it. We don’t know how to proceed.”
“WHAT DID YOU FIND?”Killian demanded, startling the warrior. “Did you find her or not?!”
“Oh, Alpha. Uh…."He stopped hesitantly. The hesitation in his voice made me snarl and grit my teeth."We found where she was. I’m not sure if she still needs us to find her, though. We didn’t know what to do.”
I growled savagely in frustration.
“You’d best start making sense, Gerry,”Cherum warned him. “What was it that you found?”
The silence that followed lasted only seconds, but it felt way longer with my anxiety and frustration.
“Bodies,”Gerald then said, surprising everyone. “Nearly a dozen bodies were ripped to shreds. All the scents traveling with our Luna were there except for one. We believed it to be Alpha Wayne’s body that was missing.”
“Bodies?”Kent repeated back.
“It looks like Luna killed them all.”
I’m amazed, but also confused. “Looks like? Did you not find Lira there too?”
Cedric, having access to the pack mind link from mating Mel, is relaying everything to Lira’s father. King Brennus is frowning, his hooded eyes expressing so many emotions at once. We’re all waiting to hear my warrior’s answer.
“No, Alpha, but….”
“BUT WHAT?!”I snapped at his hesitation.
“But… but she left us a message. It was…. It was written in their…their blood. She tore them apart, then wrote us a…a message…. With their limbs. Like…like they were writing pens.”
I knew my mate was equal to me with her fighting abilities, but I was stunned at the brutality of what I was hearing. How was she able to do such a thing if her beast was contained?
“I think you should come see for yourself, Alpha. I…I didn’t quite understand it myself, but I think she is telling us to let her go.”

Earlier….
Elelira
My heart was hammering in my chest as one of my uncle’s men carried me over his shoulder. He kept me flung over his lap while riding on the back of the horse, but now he is in Lycan form.
