I was a sucker for his kisses. They were just as compelling as his dick.
Releasing myself from his hold, I smiled and looked him in the eyes. “Yes, I’ll stay with you.”
“That's all I needed to hear. Consider it handled.”

“You two are mighty quiet this morning,” Keyon said as he followed Alauni and me into the breakfast diner. “Based on the sunglasses, extremely slow reactions, and even slower movements, I'm assuming that you two had a rough night.”
Rough night was an understatement.
I mean, it ended good, but at this point, my head was pounding like crazy and I could barely focus. It was going to take a few cups of coffee to get me on my toes, which was extremely necessary since we were on our way back home.
I glanced over at Alauni as she tilted her head back and massaged her neck. IfIwas feeling like shit, I knew her ass had to be feeling ten times worse.
“You good?” I asked.
Shaking her head, she whispered, “How long does it take for this stuff to leave your system? I still feel funny.”
“Your guess is as good as mine. But that's what your ass gets. You shouldn't have—”
She shoved her hand into my face. “You don’t have to keep saying it.”
“And you were worried about me?” Keyon said while shaking his head. “I should have had someone keeping an eye on you two.”
“Shut up, Key.” We slid into the booth, Alauni sitting next to me and Keyon across from us. “So, how was your visit? Did you get a good feel for the campus?”
“It was cool. I met a lot of people.”
“Did you get a chance to see the track team?”
“Yeah, and they are good as hell.”
“I told you,” Alauni replied. “I think you’ll be a perfect fit here.”
Nodding, I said, “I agree.”
“I think so too. I’m going to talk it over with Mama and see what she thinks. I mean, this was always my first choice, but I want to make sure she’s cool with it.”
“Of course.”
“Speaking of her being cool with things,” he said, still looking at me. “What did she say about me coming to live with you?”
I lifted the plastic menu from the table. “Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen. I couldn’t quite get her to see things my way. Hell, I couldn’t even really get her to talk about it.”
“I can't say that I'm surprised. I always thought it would be a long shot, but I was really hoping to get away from Reggie. Ever since he found out that I told you what he said, the tension between us has been pretty thick.”
“Really? Have you talked to your mom about it?”
“She has enough on her plate. I don’t want to complicate things. Besides, I’ll be gone in a few months, so it won’t even matter.”
“That’s true, but you’ll still have to deal with him at some point. That’s going to be your mother’s husband.”
“The only thing I have to do is be cordial whenever I see him. I don’t have a problem doing that.”
Alauni shrugged. “Hopefully things change between the two of you. Maybe you guys just need some time.”
