“Well, thankfully, I showed up when I did,” she said, glancing over her shoulder.

I couldn’t help but look down at her ass, which was jiggling uncontrollably beneath her shorts. I didn’t know what was more difficult to watch, her in work attire or her in comfortable shit. All of it was sexy as hell. So sexy that my arms couldn’t help wrapping around her from behind.

“Law, what are you doing?” She giggled.

“My bad, I couldn’t resist getting close to you.”

“I see that, but all in public though?”

“Yeah, all in public. This is the kind of shit that I want to do with you, but you’re playing.”

“Must we do this right now?”

I shrugged. “We can do it at your place if you want. As long as we do it.”

She paused. “Are we talking about the same thing here?”

“I’m talking about whatever you’re talking about.”

“Well, I’m talking about the relationship conversation…you’re talking about fucking, which can’t happen tonight anyway. Layne’s back home.”

“Alright then, let’s get back to the relationship conversation.”

Turning around, she looked me in the eyes. “I don’t want to do this right now.”

“You don’t ever want to do it.”

Lifting up on her tiptoes, she lowered my head and pressed her lips against mine.

I knew how Alauni operated. When she wanted to change the direction of the conversation, she used her lips or whatever other part of her flesh to make me weak. I wanted to push her away, but the meshing of our tongues kept that from happening.

Stepping back, she said, “Like I said, I don’t want to talk about this right now. Don’t confuse that with I don’t want to talk about it at all. I actually do want to, but I’m still trying to sort through a few things first. Will you at least give me the time to do that?”

Surprised by her words, my brows shot up. “This is new.”

She giggled. “I know, and trust me, I’m a little freaked out about it. But I’ve been doing a lot of thinking, and I think it’s time that we really have a conversation about us. I don’t know where the conversation will lead, but I’m open to it.”

Nodding, I said, “Okay. Just let me know the time and the place.”

“I will. Just give me a little more time, please.”

“Will do.”

“Now, in the meantime, take your ass home and relax. I don’t need you getting into any more trouble.”

“I’m good, trust me.”

“You sure?”

“Positive,” I replied. “Reggie may talk a lot of shit, but he knows not to cross me. I will fuck his whole life up.”

“Yeah, well, for your sister’s sake, I hope it never comes to that.”

“I hope it doesn’t either.”

Sucking her teeth, she rolled her eyes. “Whatever, you live for moments like this. You want to beat his ass so bad.”

“You damn right I do. But I know how to keep my cool. It may take some extra work when it comes to him, but I got a handle on things.”
