“And what did you do in the bathroom, Nathan?”
“I…” Nathan gulped, the memory coming back to him. “I jacked off?”
“You lied to me,” Ken corrected. “I wouldn’t punish you about jacking off because we haven’t talked about it, but you lied about your reason to be in the bathroom.”
“That’s…” Nathan sighed. Why were tears starting to pool in his eyes, his throat clogged with the need to shed them free? “Fair. Sorry.”
“I know you’ll be, boy.” Ken’s gaze was hard as steel again when Nathan chanced another glance back. “So, how many spanks do you think you deserve?”
Shit.
He’d forgotten about that.
If he was smart, he would give a low number—nothing below ten, though, or Ken would see through the act.
The number was on the tip of his tongue—fifteen, nothing too high nor too low—when images assaulted him.
He hadn’t just picked up a phone and fucked up an order for dinner. Or ran to a bathroom and come against the toilet seat.
Nathan remembered the kiss he hadn’t asked permission for, when he’d flown by everything he knew about consent.
That wasn’t good of him.
He also remembered their texts, when he’d lied about going to the event.
The disaster of a Valentine’s Day he’d had even though that’d had nothing to do with Ken. He wasn’t a good pup and he had yet to tell Ken about that. He was lying to him, letting him think things that weren’t true.
He remembered Parker and the other guys at the dungeon, laughing because Nathan either obeyed too much or gave Doms too few concessions.
Marcus and how he hadn’t let him take care of him when he was dropping, instead turning to a virtual stranger and making him worry for the entire week.
To the point where that stranger was now in a hotel room with him, taking days off work for… him.
Nathan was… bad.
Not good.
The crushing realization had the tears slipping out of his eyes, a sob wrenching chaos through his body.
And he hadn’t even been hit yet.
“I don’t know,” he babbled, remembering the question. Batting furiously at his eyes. “Eighty? More?”
It happened too fast or too slowly, but Ken had managed to grip a hold of his wrists, positioned them so they were resting against his back, clasping his elbows.
“I’m going to give you ten spanks on each cheek,” Ken’s resolute tone wrenched another sob out of him. “Then we’re going to enjoy the nice dinner you ordered for us, and then we’re going to have a good night’s sleep, okay?”
Nathan nodded. Ken’s words were like a balm to all his open wounds, even the ones that didn’t have a name yet. Even when he couldn’t quite process the words or what any of it meant.
“Color?”
“Green.”
That was all it took for Ken to start the punishment. He was relentless, each hit coming harder than the last with barely any pause in between. Nathan yelped, screamed, and kept sobbing, more and more ugly tears deciding to make an appearance.
Ken didn’t stop through any of it. Nathan didn’t dare glance back to see that coldness taking residence in Ken’s eyes even though he could see it turning him on.
There was only pain and Ken’s hand administering it.
