A bit cliché, hm?

This isn’t a question, by the way

I’ll be at a club not too far from my place. Have a drink with my best friend and his pup, watch the other boys and pups, maybe dance a bit

Ken shook his head. It was so clear that Nathan had been desperate for the change in topic. He’d probably gotten the question from one of those posts about icebreakers.

He had to suffer through a few of those a year when the firm’s HR department got bored and decided it was time for team building exercises.

Nathan

not taking them home?

Ken

I’m not a monk, but no, I don’t take many pups to my place

One night stands and hookups stopped doing it for me a long time ago

Nathan

what does it for you, then?

Ken groaned. Just because he’d walked right into that one didn’t mean he was happy about the fact.

He knew the answer to the question—that one hadn’t changed much ever since he’d stepped into the world of D/s—but it had been a long time since he’d last put it into words or shared it with someone else.

Even if they weren’t compatible—couldn’t be—and Nathan was only a picture and words on a screen, Ken couldn’t help but feel exposed as he typed out words only to question them seconds later.

Was it saying too much, giving away too much of himself?

Ken

Someone I can own and mold. Someone who is willing to listen, to learn and grow beside me

Nathan

listening isn’t fun

Ken

I imagine not for brats

Nathan

what do you have against us?

Ken

Daring 13th question

I’ve been burned. Fighting to tame a brat takes a lot of energy and very little reward in my experience

Ken put the phone down. He wondered if his message would hurt Nathan, if he should’ve softened the words. After all, Nathan wasn’t to blame for… him. They may have been talking for only a couple of days, but Ken didn’t enjoy the idea of hurting him.

Nathan

I have to go. The dungeon I go to is organizing a demo or something
