Page 19 of The Saviors: Part Two
Micah snorts. “She’s in heaven right now.” He looks at me. “How the hell did Ghost and them get you out?”
“They came in guns blazing. Killed a few in the process, and it gave us an advantage. The rest took off after that.”
“Are they back at the hospital with Gavin?” Van asks.
“Yeah,” I sigh. “If he wakes up, we owe him.”
“When,” Micah corrects. “If I’ve learned anything, those Augustus boys come out swinging.”
“He’s got my respect,” I say. “He didn’t hesitate to throw his ass on the line to protect Chelsea. Are Ari and his team still here?”
Van nods. “Yeah. Ari said they’re sitting vigil tonight. Are you staying here after tomorrow?”
“I don’t know. That’s up to Chelsea. Did someone look at Nolan’s arm?”
Micah nods. “Loretta did before she went in there to help with Axel.”
I get to my feet. “I’m going to bed. Thank you. We owe you guys.”
“No, you don’t,” Micah argues. “Go hug your woman.”
I take off upstairs to Sean’s room and find her asleep on his chest with Nolan spooned behind her. I lay down on Sean’s other side, happy as fuck to be here. No matter how fucked we all are. We’ll make it through this.
With a lot more dead bodies to add to our count.

I shootup in bed alone the next morning, looking around. My breath leaves me in a whoosh when I remember everyone is back under the same roof. I flop back against the pillows and will my heartbeat to return to normal.
Chelsea woke up several times throughout the night, covered in sweat and crying. She’s away from that asshole, but he’s still haunting her nightmares. We did everything we could to soothe her until she went back to sleep.
I pull my sore body out of bed, take care of business, brush my teeth, and go in search of the rest of them. When I get downstairs, my stomach rumbles at the delicious smells coming from the kitchen. I follow it and find everyone sitting around, minus Kai. I pop a kiss on Chelsea’s cheek and slide onto the stool beside her, watching Micah and Zane cook.
“Good morning, Ladybug.”
She puts her arm through mine and lays her head on my shoulder. “Good morning.”
“Where’s Kai?”
“Outside. He said it was too crowded in here.”
“Did you talk to him?”
She looks up with tears in her eyes. “I did. I can’t believe he had to go through that again.”
“He’ll come out of it, Cupcake.” Axel hobbles over and sits next to me.
“How’s the leg and chest?”
“Fine. He got the bullet out, sewed it up, covered my chest, and pumped me full of antibiotics.”
“With strict instructions to stay off it,” Chelsea says, looking around me. “Which I see you aren’t going to follow.”
Axel wrinkles his nose. “I don’t like the crutches.”
“That’s because you’re a dumbass,” Sean laughs from the table.
Nolan starts laughing like crazy. “And a hard-headed asshat.”
