Page 111 of The Saviors: Part Two
“We talked about that, but we need to find out what evidence he supposedly has. Bridget, her guys, and us can disappear without a trace. Les and Evie’s families have kids to worry about.”
“That makes sense. Should I let Axel know we’re back?” I nod, and Kai squeezes Sean’s hand before he gently slides out from under him.
“Sean,” I say softly, running my fingers through his hair again. “You need to wake up.”
His eyelashes flutter, and he wrinkles his nose. “But this is comfortable.”
“I agree, but we get to go fuck shit up.” His eyes pop open at that. “We’re hitting the houses tonight.”
“Why didn’t you say that?” He sits up, and I grab his arm before he can stand from the couch.
“Are you okay?”
“I will be. It just sucks that after all this time he finally wants a relationship just because he’s half dead.”
“If you decide you want to go down that path, we’ll be here for you. You don’t need to make the decision now; just know that it’s an option.”
“Thank you. I don’t know what the fuck I want or why I’m even considering this.”
“People do change. I know in our line of work, that’s hard to believe. It might have just taken your dad getting his diagnosis to do so.”
“They said he’s been asking for me. He didn’t have a way to get ahold of me, though. Cole, he looked genuinely happy to see me.”
“He might have been. Like I said, it’s a decision that you have to make.”
Sean wraps his arms around my neck in a hug, and I wrap mine around his waist. “I love you,” he whispers.
“I love you too,Mi amor.”
“Let’s find Axel before it gets any mushier in here.” With a laugh, I get up behind him and follow him to the back patio.
When Axel sees him, he jerks him into a hug without a word. Sean goes straight to Chelsea after that, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind.
“The plan is to get Holden and Nolan as close as we can to knock out any security,” Axel starts. “Then we can send in the snipers. Zane is tied up with Charlie’s compound, so Hart can go with Banger, and I’ll be the other one on our team. I wish we could just blow these fuckers up, but that draws too much attention.”
“Me too,” Mateo laughs.
“Baby boy,” Gray groans. “You can’t go around blowing everything up.”
“Why the fuck not? It’s my specialty. I want to get my hands on what he’s building. That’s a big boom.”
“When this is done, I’ll hand you all the designs,” Axel laughs.
“That’s just fucking great,” Micah mutters. “He’s like a kid in a candy store with explosives.”
“I love it,” I agree. Mateo loves his explosives like I love that damn grenade launcher.
“Okay, we have our teams. We need to move.”
We each kiss our women and make our way to the garage. Vests, Glocks, knives, and automatics are strapped on. Kai gets into the driver’s seat since Axel is getting out with me. We’re team A, meaning we go in first with Nolan. When we can breach the property, team B will pull up. We pull off the back of the property and head toward Micah’s old house. Axel and I get our sniper rifles ready on the drive. Nolan has his tablet loading and will tell us when he’s within signal.
“How’s Sean?” Axel whispers.
“He has some shit to figure out, but I think he’ll make the right choice.”
“Right here!” Nolan exclaims when we’re almost two miles from the house. Kai pulls over to the side of the road, and the car with Lex, Nik, Ghost, and Caden pulls in behind us. “This place is covered. It might take me a minute.”
“Take your time, Naughty boy. Comms check.” We start getting the okay from everyone, and I smile when I hear Chelsea.
