“What? Boobs make guysloco.”
“But this guy looks at boobs and vaginas all day, every day.”
“Yeah, but not boobs like yours.”
I gasp when she grabs mine, giving them a squeeze.
“Well, this looks interesting,” Einstein says as he and Gage approach.
“Thanks for the most action I’ve had in years,” I whisper to Raven.
She laughs, moving toward Gage.
“What’s going on?” he asks.
“Nothing. Just some sisterly love,” Raven answers.
“Well, it’s my turn.” Laughter explodes around him, and he quickly corrects himself. “The sisterly love part, not the boob touching. Obviously.”
“Obviously, brother dearest.”
“Come on,” he says. “We’re heading across the street.”
“Okay. Let me just get Mikey.”
“I’ll get him,” Einstein offers. “You go ahead.”
“Thanks.”
Raven gives me a knowing smile, but I brush her off. Just because the man is helping me with my son doesn’t mean he wants my body. A woman can hope, but that’s the furthest thing from my mind right now. I just want to go home and curl up with a glass of wine after Mikey goes to bed. Maybe two.
I slip my hand in Gage’s, smiling up at him as we cross the street.
“You did good, big brother.”
“You think so?”
“Of course. I can see how much this means to Einstein.”
He squeezes my hand, then presents me with a set of keys. I accept it, confusion taking over.He couldn’t have possibly bought me office space, too. Could he?
“Gage….”
With a grin, he motions toward another door covered with brown paper.
“Gage!”
I launch myself at him, throwing my arms around his neck. He picks me up, spinning me around.
“You’re the best big brotherever!”
When he places me back on my feet, I race forward, screaming in excitement. I rip away the paper, finding my business name printed on the door. I have office space. Ellen’s Events has its own office!
As I push the key into the lock, I hear Mikey beginning to cry for me. Guess my scream woke him up. Turning back, I take him from Einstein, trying to calm him down. Einstein opens the door for me, and I walk in, observing my surroundings with wide-eyed amazement.
“I got you some basic furniture,” Gage says. “But I have an interior designer lined up to get the place how you want it.”
Tears spring to my eyes again, but for a different reason. These are happy tears. Over-the-moon, ecstatic tears.
