Page 106 of Seduction
I open my eyes, will the tears away, and steel my nerves. I’m Ellen Hunter, for Christ’s sake—daughter to Chopper, and sister to Reaper.
This asshole has no idea who he’s messing with.
I don’t know how long we’ve been driving, but we finally come to a stop. They move me into another van, and then we’re on the road again. Another long drive and we once again come to a halt. When the door opens, I see it’s now night. Two men remove me from the van, transporting me into a building with no windows, and only one entrance that I can see. They leave me in the room with the man who told me he’s a nurse. He gets to work, setting up an IV, and then reaches for a bottle of pills.
“What’s your name?” I ask.
He stares at me for a while, the internal battle evident. “You can call me Abe.”
“Abe… exactly who are we waiting for?”
“I don’t know his name. Never even met him. He sends different men to deliver his orders.”
“I see.”
“You need to take these.”
He places the pills in my mouth, followed by a bottle of water at my lips to help me swallow.
“Can you free my hands? They’re pressed against my breasts.” He hesitates, but removes the straps binding them. “Thank you, Abe.”
The door to the room creaks open and a figure appears in the doorway. With the light from the other room behind him, I can’t see his face, but he’s huge. He has to duck to enter. He slowly comes into focus as he approaches me, but I haven’t a clue who he is. He has one of those prison bodies, attained because there’s nothing else to do but work out, and there’s a scar running from under his left eye to the corner of his lips.
“Miss Hunter.” He sneers at me, standing where he’s close enough to touch. “Sorry for the circumstances under which we have to meet, but—” He shrugs. “—it couldn’t be helped. Comfortable?”
“I’d be more comfortable if I was in my own home.”
“You will be… soon. You’re just leverage. It’s not you I want.”
Jon’s words echo in my mind. You know how many people out there would jump at a chance of getting back at the MC through you?
“Who do you want?”
“We’ll get to that soon enough.”
“Who are you?” He trails his finger down my cheek and neck, stopping at the top of the hospital gown. A sickening chill runs through my body. “Don’t touch me.”
He grasps my cheeks, squeezing them together as he leans in. I hate to admit it, but he’s even more intimidating up close.
“I’m not a fan of turning children into orphans, but it doesn’t mean I won’t have some fun with you first. Whether you get back to your son in one piece or not is up to you.”
Mikey.
I close my eyes, seeing my son’s staring up at me. I’d do anything for him, even if it means enduring whatever this man has planned in order to get back to him. If I believe a word he says. His hand leaves my face, but I keep my eyes closed. I don’t want to see what he’s doing.
“Your beau killed one of my men, so I think extracting payment from you will be more… pleasurable.”
My beau?Jonkilled that man?My heart constricts. Jon killed a man for me. He may not have reciprocated when I said the words to him, but I know without a doubt that he loves me.
“Don’t,” I hear Abe say, voice trembling. “That’s where she’s bandaged.”
My lids flutter open to find the man’s hands paused over my breasts.
“What? You had a boob job? Pity. From the pictures I’ve seen of you, you had a nice rack.”
Pictures. They’ve been following me. A shiver of fright runs down my spine.
“Enjoy yourself, asshole. If Jon doesn’t kill you, my father or brother will. You’re a dead man walking.”
