“Yeah, I get that. From what I can feel, you have a pretty spectacular dick, but I like you for a lot more than the six inches you have tucked in. . .”
“Six inches?” Now it’s his turn to stare at me wide-eyed. “Woman, even on a cold day, it’s at least seven and a half.”
“And you know this because?”
He shrugs. That sexy smile of his spreads across his stubble-covered face, along with a quick quirk of his brows.
“It’s a bloke thing.”
A knock sounds at the front door. Gabe leans in, brushes his mouth against mine, and climbs off me.
“Fuck. My. Life,” he says while pulling on his trackies and the T I was wearing earlier. I grin as I watch the muscles in his back work when he raises his arms and pulls on the T-shirt.

I spendthe rest of the morning helping Gabe pack while reassuring him I would be okay on my own.
“Jo’s coming tonight, and Jem and Lou are both staying Friday and Saturday night. We’re going to pretend we’re in our own little resort. I’ll be fine.”
“What about next week, is Jo staying then?” he asks as he looks down at me.
We’re at the front door. His case is on the back seat of his truck, and he should’ve left ten minutes ago. Instead, he’s standing here stressing over me.
“I wish your son wasn’t away. I’d be much happier if he was around in case there’s an emergency.”
“What kind of emergency is there likely to be? I’ve heard nothing from Jay. We’re done and he knows it.”
He lets out a huff and looks everywhere except at me.
“Go, have fun, be with your daughter. Don’t have too much fun though, or go banging some leggy, Queensland beach babe.”
It strikes me then, we haven’t had that conversation yet. We haven’t even had a conversation about what we are to each other, so we definitely haven’t had one about exclusivity.
He lets out another sigh, or this one could even be construed as a huff. Before he can say any more, I pull away, hold my arm out towards his truck and say, “Go. I’m going in now, and if you don’t leave, you’re going to be late.”
Before I can turn towards the front door, he steps back towards me, wraps his arm around my waist, and pulls me towards him. I open my mouth, but don’t get a sound out before his lips are on mine.
Moving his hands to either side of my jaw, he kisses me long, deep, and wet. It’s the kind of kiss that speaks to you, and if I were a wiser woman, I would understand what he was trying to convey, but as he steps away and into his truck, I’m just left feeling confused.
Chapter 19
Gabe
Because Lena’s pregnant,I go to the front door and knock when I arrive to collect Ava. I know my daughter, we might only be going away for nine nights, but she will have packed for two-hundred and seventy-nine, and I don’t want either of them struggling with her cases.
“Hey,” I say to my ex when she opens the door. “She ready?”
Lena looks past me and over my shoulder to my truck.
“You on your own?” she answers with a question of her own. Despite knowing the answer to this, I still look behind me to my truck.
“Yeah, we’re meeting everyone else at the airport. Why’s that?”
“Including your new girlfriend?”
What the fuck?
“My new girlfriend?” I question. That earns me a roll of her pale blue eyes. Funny how it amuses me when Lauren does it but pisses me the fuck off when it’s Lena.
