“I’m going to let you in, and we’re going to talk, I’m gonna set you straight about a few things, and if you don’t like what I’m gonna tell you, you can leave and it’ll stay just between us. Lauren will never know you were here.”
“So, she’s not here?”
“Yeah, she’s sleeping, probably will be for a while yet.”
I offer the bottle of Prosecco, accompanied by my best smile. Jo takes the Prosecco from me and steps aside.
“Save your smile for Lauren, I’m immune to your charms, Wild.”
Shaking my head, I follow her inside.
Chapter 12
Lauren
Without even being fully awake,I sense the presence and then feel the body’s heat pressed against me from behind.
A hand slides across my hip, as a stubbled jaw brushes against my shoulder, before burying itself in the curve of my neck.
My skin ignites as goosebumps erupt across its surface. As his unique scent fills my nose, I know who it is before he even lays a hand on me. Hot breath spreads across my ear and against my head as a hard dick presses against my arse.
“You shouldn’t be here,” I croak in my sleep-affected voice.
“I couldn’t stay away,” he replies before leaving a trail of wet kisses along my jaw.
“You need to leave.”
His hand slides under the singlet I’m wearing, and my head spins at the sensation of his skin against mine. His hand slides from the curve of my waist to rest at the top of my ribs, right below my boobs. Everything clenches tightly inside me, and I shudder.
There’s no way he didn’t feel that. No way he doesn’t know the effect he’s having on me.
“Is that really what you want?”
His hand slides higher, his thumb brushes across my hard nipple, and I pant out a short, sharp breath when he again grinds against me.
“Didn’t think so.”
I can feel his smile against my cheek as he talks.
I’m lying on my side, legs pressed together as tightly as I can get them, everything inside me tensed.
His fingertips trail a path from the centre of my chest, down past my belly, before sliding inside my sleep shorts.
“Gabe,” I whisper.
“I’ve got you. I’ve got. . .”
Jo’s laugh interrupts my vivid dream and drags me back to consciousness. I force my eyes to open. One of them not quite as wide as the other. I’m instantly hit with a pounding headache and the realisation that my hand is inside my shorts.
“Seriously. What the fuck is wrong with you? Now is not the time,” I whisper out loud to myself.
I assumed Jo was on the phone, but when I hear the low rumble of a second voice, I slide carefully up and sit on the side of the bed.
There’s a bottle of water and my next round of pain meds sitting on the bedside table next to me, I take them before I even attempt to move, and chug down the entire contents of the bottle. I regret that the instant I stand; nausea hits my stomach, and not only does my head spin, but it pounds with a dull thump. The pain in my shoulder has eased, and I lean into the bed with both hands and wait for the dizziness to pass, hoping I don’t throw up all over it.
Making my way to the ensuite, I use the toilet before washing my hands and splashing water on my face. Staring down into the sink, I have to take a few moments to prepare before I look at my reflection in the mirror.
“Far out.” I shake my head at the strangely familiar woman looking back at me before taking all of her in. It’s me, but not me. It’s a version of me.
