There’s thirty-three minutes before the library closes and I know for a fact Hayden’s lost track of the time. That’s a thing he does now apparently—get so engrossed in a book he forgets the rest of the world exists. I would be annoyed if it wasn’t so damn adorable.

I still find the library huge and intimidating, but I’ve been to his secret hiding spot enough times that I know the route like the back of my hand. I try not to run while checking the time on my phone. Thirty-two minutes.

I have a surprise for Hayden. Well, it’s not really a surprise.

The group chat’s been blowing up for the past hour, so he’d know about the news if he bothered to check his phone.

But I can’t trust Hayden to do that when he’s at the library.

It’s okay, though, because I want to see the look on his face when I break the news to him.

It’s really good news.
