Would they do that? Freddie’s bite broke their contract, and now here is Boone.

Sebastian’s eyes blow wide in shock. Boone cocks his head to the side. Not exactly confused.

“No!” Sebastian says.

“Well, then, why is a lawyer here?”

I’m actually kind of surprised Freddie knows Boone.

“Jake told me what happened last night, and I was in the city, so I stopped by. I wanted to make myself useful to you all.”

“And he brought me tea,” I say, cutting off any more questions. I don’t really want them fighting. I feel really good right now. I haven’t felt this good ever in my life. I don’t need some posturing or suspicion ruining my morning. Boone is here, so we all have to be chill.

Freddie takes the carafe from me and I let him. He also assembles me a plate, like Sabbies had tried to do. I sit down and prepare my tea. I pour the hot water over two bags of tea and add all my favorite things.

Freddie picks me up from the seat, turns us around and sits down, bringing me into his lap. He pulls over my food and tea, arranging them nicely in front of me.

He whispers in my ear, “You feel good leaning against me.”

Good. The morning is back on track. Light fills the whole room. We can see the mountains from this room. Which seems fitting, considering where Freddie and I first met. Both my college and his monastery are in those mountains. I eat my muffin and two pieces of bacon, but I’m still hungry.

“How’re you feeling?” Sabbies asks me.

I smile at him. He looks so good in this light.

“Really good. Are you ok, Sabbies?”

He pauses, his hands that were tearing apart a muffin.

“Yeah, you scared me, sweetheart. I’m glad you’re doing better.”

“I’m sorry,” I say, and Freddie grips me tight.

“You don’t need to apologize to him,” he admonishes.

I pat his hand that’s on my stomach.

“I just mean, thank you. Actually. Thank you for getting me here. I feel so much better. Better than I have in a long time.”

Sebastian clears his throat. “The doctor will be by later this morning, if you’re up for it.”

Freddie and I both glance at Boone. We both don’t like this strange alpha knowing our business. I know he’s Sebastian’s friend, so maybe he just needs support? That’s why he’s here.

“Yeah, having her back would be good. I’ve had breakouts like this most of my life. I usually have to bear it alone. This one was the worst. But you scented me.” Sebastian and I lock eyes. “Youcleaned up after me. Helped me undress. Got me a nest. Held me. Made me…” I lean in and just mouth the word, “orgasm.”

Freddie pulls me in even tighter.

A shy smile curls on Sebastian’s face. Boone addresses my mate, “Freddie, I smelled you and Sabbies all over the couch. Did something else happen last night?”

I lose my smile.

My muscles twitch, and I repress the urge to bare my teeth. The room feels too small for the four of us.

“What do you mean?” Freddie asks.

I really don’t want Boone or anyone to ruin this morning for me. And I especially don’t want Sebastian or Freddie to feel guilty about what happened last night. A small curl of guilt can be felt from my bond with Freddie, and I hate it.

“He doesn’t mean anything,” I say when I’d rather tell Boone to go fuck himself. I turn and kiss Freddie’s cheek and he relaxes.
