She makes a cute, little thinking noise.
I get down on my knees, my face level with her pussy. “Always. You’re in charge, baby.”
“Mouth. Your mouth is my favorite.”
So I give her what she wants. Exactly as she wants. She doesn’t have to ask me twice. I take good care of my omega.
Eventually, we are all sitting out on the back porch where there are so many outdoor seating options. All of them looking off towards the sunset on the plains. I’m holding Ondine in my arms in a chaise lounge.
“Thank you,” Ondine says to me.
“For what, baby?”
“I could tell that you already knew my parents suck. And had an omega. None of you reacted but Freddie and Arnie. You already knew. But you didn’t tell me not to meet them or try to do this all yourself. Thank you for letting me do it on my own. I think you have this really impressive ability to know when to back off.”
I smile into her hair.
“Are you complimenting me?”
I think she’s going to say something snarky, but when she turns to look at me, she looks serious.
“Of course. I love you, Jake. I think the world of you.”
The small chatter around us quits down.
“Ondine…” I say, because I don’t know what else to say.
“Tell her you love her back, idiot,” Shadow shouts from across the porch.
“I love you back, baby. I love you more.”
And then she kisses me.

Possession
Ondine
It’s late when we all drive back to the house on the peninsula. Killer is there, along with all of our things, so we can’t spend the night at the country house. Robin and the others are going to get the house all opened up and ready for our moving trucks tomorrow. It was so good to see them again.
I curl up with Freddie and Arnie in their room, on Freddie’s bed. In the middle of the night, Jake and Shadow come in and sleep in Arnie’s bed, and then before morning, Jake grabs me and takes me into bed with them.
I wake early to go scent my man, Sebastian. I sneak away quite well. Even Killer is none the wiser, sleeping between Arnie’s legs. Sebastian’s room is empty, and his phone is still plugged in. I look at the screen for the time and see some textsfrom Boone. All the men have the same passcode, so in a moment of weakness I open up his phone to read the messages.
I miss you.
I think I’m falling in love with you.
Sebastian, please don’t be mad at me. I just need to talk to you.
I’m shaking. My whole body is filled with adrenaline. My head feels heavy and my hands are cold. It looks like they haven’t talked since that phone call they had weeks ago, where Sebastian told him not to contact him.
And yet this morning, Boone decided to profess his love. To my alpha. To my alpha.
I’m so disgusted by the texts I’m staring at I delete all three of them. I’m horrified. I’m upset. Shadow told Jake what Boone said when he questioned him under his influence. That Boone wanted to be the bridge between our packs and be the new pack lead. That he wanted to remove Shadow.
He doesn’t get my pack. They are mine!
