“The part where he lists her flaws?”
She rolled her eyes at him. “The grand gesture. The big grovel. The dramatic speech. Maybe it makes me a basic bitch, but I love it. Like when Heath Ledger sings in the stadium in10 Things? Or Freddie Prinze Jr. goes to graduation naked? It doesn’t get better than that.”

Chapter Twenty-six
The waiting was killing her. Kimmy had stayed late into the night, helping her proof her resumé and going over her budget for the fifteenth time to be sure that what Reproductive Justice was offering was livable before she emailed to say she’d love to interview with them. But now three days had passed with no word from the hiring manager and her nerves were wrecked.
It wasn’t that long of a wait, really. She knew that intellectually, but telling that to her racing heart every time a new email pinged into her inbox was something else entirely.
@Noraephronwasagenius

@Keanuisadreamboat
No word on the job yet?
@Neverthelesskararesisted

@Noraephronwasagenius

Distract me?
@MadisonHughes95
Have you figured out what you’re gonna do about Luke?
@Keanuisadreamboat
MADDY.
THAT IS NOT WHAT SHE MEANT AND YOU KNOW IT.
@MadisonHughes95
@Noraephronwasagenius
What is there to do?
We’re done. Both versions of us.
@MadisonHughes95
But are you, though?
Because last time you brought him up you were saying you missed him
And then said you wouldn’t talk about it, yes, but like . . . girl
Here’s your distraction
