Page 10 of Falling For My Assistant
Sean stepped from the dressing room across the studio after one of Lo’s assistants helped him into a tuxedo.
Moving to the mirror, he adjusted his bowtie. A glint of sparkle caught the sun and his attention, drawing his gaze to Erin and Lo as they walked from the dressing room.
Erin made her way to the small round podium by the mirrors, and Sean had to keep his mouth from falling open.
The sun dazzled off the dark sequins on her gown, sending shifting lights across the roof as Lo adjusted the dress.
She turned to look at him and offered a knowing smile, waving him over.
He shook his head, and she scowled at him, a short wave of fright sliding down his spine.
Erin turned and caught his gaze, a smile coming to her face.
Lo waved him over again, and this time he came, closing the short distance between the dressing areas.
“What do you think, Sean?” Lo asked, taking Erin’s hands and helping her do a little spin.
He watched the spin, entranced by the curves he saw.
This is what she’s been hiding?
Erin was tall and slender, and her perky bottom was wrapped so nicely in the blue fabric. She had legs that went on for miles; Sean was blessed to have seen them once in denim shorts when she came into the office on her day off to grab something. Her hips curved ever so nicely.
Stirrings of desire raced through him, and he immediately tamped it down, refusing to entertain those thoughts about his assistant.
Who happens to be a beautiful woman.
“Sean? Are you okay?” Lo asked, dragging his attention back to her.
“Yes, of course,” he replied, clearing his throat.
“What do you think of the dress, Sean?” she asked, inclining her head toward Erin.
“It looks amazing,” he said, warmth creeping up his neck.
“Really?” she asked, turning back to the mirror.
“Absolutely,” he replied, tugging at his bowtie.
“I was thinking we could do an updo,” Lo said, dragging Erin’s hair tie from her hair. She gathered the dark-brown strands in her hands, curling a few of them and holding them up.
“What do you think, Erin?” she asked. “We could do a dark polish on your nails and toes, then they would look perfect with these sparkly shoes I have. Are you okay with heels?”
Lo disappeared for a moment, coming back with a pair of dark-blue strappy heels that matched the dress. Both the ankle strap and the strap that went over the toes were covered in sparkles.
“God, Lo,” he said, shielding his eyes when the shoes caught the light, almost blinding him.
“Sorry,” Lo replied, holding up the shoes so they shined brightly, “We ladies love our sparkles.”
“What do you think, Erin?” she asked, holding them up.
“Are they comfortable?” she asked, chewing her lip.
“They are,” Lo replied. “Here, I’ll help you.”
It took a couple of minutes, but Lo assisted Erin into the shoes, reassuring her that she would be able to get them on and off by herself if she was sitting down.
Once they were finally buckled, Erin stood straight, tugging the dress up to look at them.
