INSATIABLE

XANDER

A year and five months ago

March

“It’s not really a question.”

Hair still wet from the shower and with a towel around my waist, I put my mom on speaker, place my phone on the shelf in my walk-in closet, and rummage through my clothes. My muscles are still buzzing from my workout. Even during the offseason, I want to stay in shape.

“What exactly do you want to know?”

She sighs. “Your sister found a house near yours. She wants to see you more often.”

My gut twists painfully. Dammit . I made myself crystal clear last time I saw Audrey. I don’t need a babysitter. I’d prefer she didn’t pry into my life and assume she has the right to make decisions for me.

Clearly, she didn’t listen.

“Alex?” Mom’s voice rips me out of my thoughts. “Are you there?”

“Yeah, Mom, sorry.” I snag the first pair of sweatpants I find and put them on. Phone in hand again, I take the call off speaker and press the device to my ear on my way out of the bedroom. “It’s a bad idea.”

“I think so too.”

“But?” I go straight into the living room. The TV’s on.

“But you know your sister,” she says. “Ryan’s transfer will be finalized in two weeks, and she’s pushing all our buttons to get what she wants.”

“And here I thought I could relax after winning the Super Bowl. That I wouldn’t have to worry about anything, at least for a little while.” I stop in the doorframe and zero in on Bella.

She’s sitting on the couch with Milo, his head resting on her lap. It’s so typical of them.

“I’m sorry.” Mom’s voice softens. “Give Ryan a call. If anyone can change Audrey’s mind, it’s him. Your dad and I have already tried. Your sister is incredibly stubborn when she wants something.”

“And so am I.” I push myself off the doorframe. “I’ll call Ryan tomorrow. Right now, I have better things to do.”

Mom chuckles. “Tell Bella I said hi.”

“I will.” I smile as I approach the couch. “Bye, Mom.”

“Bye.”

I plop myself down and wrap my arm around Bella’s shoulders, pulling her into my chest. Skin to skin. Just like it should be. She leans into me and sighs deeply.

I can’t help but smile at what’s on the screen. She’s watching Howl’s Moving Castle .

“You’re watching this again?”

“It’s my favorite.” She adjusts herself in my hold but doesn’t pull away. My bullheaded dog is not inclined to give up his spot, his head still in her lap.

“Didn’t we watch this last month?”

“We did.” She laughs. “The book it’s based on popped up on my Kindle today, and I knew instantly what I’d watch while waiting for you to get home. If you want, I can start it over. Or we can watch something different.”

I nuzzle her neck and inhale her scent, willing it to settle me. “That’s okay. Not sure I’d be a good audience.”

Frowning, she straightens and shifts so she’s facing me.

“I’m fine,” I tell her.

Eyebrows pulled together, she pouts. Concerned, worried Bella is adorable. “You sure?”

“Everything’s fine.” I haul her back into me, making her squeal.

Milo jumps to the floor with an irritated bark.

“I’m tired, and I just want to spend time with my girl. Is that too much to ask?”

“Definitely not,” she whispers, winding her hands around my neck. “I missed you.”

She holds my gaze, her sapphire blue eyes darkening.

That’s all it takes to send a thrill up my spine.

She’s so hot for me, every hour of every day.

My thirst matches hers perfectly. Before we met, I had no idea I could be so insatiable.

I’ve always loved sex, but my relationship with Bella took my desire to another dimension.

Our lips touch, and the world around us disappears. When it’s just us, we don’t have an end or a beginning. We are a continuation of each other.

“You taste sour,” I breathe against her skin. “Not in a bad way, just different.” With a kiss to her neck, I pull back so I can see her face.

Giggling, she throws a leg over mine, straddling me. “I was sucking on a lollipop while I waited for you.”

Fuck .

My imagination is too colorful and too dirty. Her blow jobs are the stuff dreams are made of.

“Bella,” I groan, my dick hardening painfully. In one move, I stand and turn, lowering her onto her back.

As quickly as my hands will let me, I strip off her shorts and panties, then I pull back and drink her in.

She traces her bottom lip with her finger, opening her mouth slightly. And when she swirls her tongue over the tip of her finger, my patience evaporates.

With a hand between her legs, I find her clit and rub it in circles. As she arches her back, I dive in for another kiss. I swallow her moans, relishing how wet she is already.

“Xander.” My name rolls off her tongue in a breathy whisper. “I want your cock.”

“Anything my girl wants”—I push my sweatpants down—“she gets.” With a familiar ease, I position myself between her legs and fill her in one thrust. Instantly, dark spots dance in my vision, and my eyes roll back.

Perfect . She feels perfect.

She wraps her legs around my hips as her hands find my ass, her nails pricking my skin as she takes me deeper.

“I’m so full,” she whispers.

I ravage her lips, pounding into her relentlessly. I don’t want to give her even the tiniest opportunity to catch her breath. Her moans, her racing heartbeat, her erratic breathing—it all belongs to me.

Leaning away, I look down at where we’re connected. “Your pussy was made for me.”

She moans, arching her back. I hold her hips firmly, driving myself into her.

“Oh…God.” She closes her eyes. “Oh my God.”

“There’s no one in the room with us, Bella. Who are you calling out to?” I taunt, my breaths choppy. “Where’s your God, baby?”

“Smart-ass,” she grunts, pulling my face down to her for another kiss.

Heat swirls in my lower abdomen, making me move faster. Rougher. Harder. I’ll be a goner in no time, but not if she isn’t there with me.

She lifts her hips, and I growl in approval. I slide even deeper and pound into her with all I have. Pleasurable aches flood my body as I slam my hips into hers, hitting her sweet spot.

“Xander…don’t stop…don’t st— Oh fuck…” She clings to my shoulders as her body quivers.

Heart thundering, I lower my head and kiss her lips. She’s short of breath, moaning and gasping and babbling incoherently.

“The way your pussy is clenching around me, I won’t last long…” I kiss her jaw and bury my face in the hollow of her neck.

“Me either…” Her words die on her tongue, quickly replaced by a loud, prolonged moan.

The sound spurs me on. I plunge into her over and over, keeping my rhythm steady, in and out. I alternate between licking and sucking and biting the sensitive skin at her neck. She is so fucking wet. Stars dance behind my closed eyelids. Tingles race up my spine.

“Xander, stop…stop…please…”

I slam into her again before her words register, and she squirts, soaking us both.

I straighten and grin down at her, still buried in her tight heat. Damn . I totally forgot this position does that to her.

Beneath me, her brows are knitted together, and she’s worrying her lip. That wasn’t the first time, but usually we’re in our bed.

“Don’t.” I press my finger to her lips, knowing exactly what’s on her mind. “Everything’s fine. I’ll clean the couch.” I steal a kiss. “You were amazing.”

I lower my forehead to hers and relish the comfort of being this close.

Bella has changed a lot in the last few months.

She’s more confident now, sure of herself and her beliefs.

It’s like she’s shedding her old skin, sloughing off layer after layer of insecurities.

Yet she’s so easily thrown off track; I need to do more to make her feel better.

“I’ll clean it up, okay?” I say again. Please, babe. Show me your gorgeous smile.

As if reading my mind, she gives me a small smile. “Okay.” She wraps her arms around my torso.

Warmth unfurls in my chest, filling my heart with happiness. I’m crazy about this girl.

And my sister thinks it’s unhealthy.

I scowl as my thoughts stray to Audrey.

Bella notices my uneasiness straight away and releases me. “What’s wrong?”

I stand and help her up. “I’ll clean up first, and then we can talk.”

Everything is as it was before—except our couch. It’s drenched after all the cleaning foam and water Bella applied. She refused to hear any objections or accept my help. All she let me do was heat up dinner, her new recipe for pad Thai.

“Damn, babe,” I say between bites. “You outdid yourself.”

Across from me, she bites her bottom lip, hiding her smile. “You’re such a liar. Did you forget I was with you at your parents’ when you said the same thing to your mom? She’s an incredible cook.”

“Using the same line doesn’t make me a bad person. Or a liar.” I point my fork at her. “Your food is excellent.”

“Thank you.” She takes a sip of her drink, her eyes sparkling with joy.

In a matter of minutes, I’ve devoured every bite. Pushing my empty plate away from me, I lean back in my chair. “I’m full.”

“I would be too if I ate that much pad Thai.” She giggles, still working on her own meal.

The sound of her laughter instantly makes me grin. “How was your day?”

She tells me about some of the work she did for Ben before turning on the movie this afternoon.

I frown. “Why were you working? It’s Saturday.”

“I had time, so why not? I figured if I got some work done I’d have more time to spend with you on Monday.”

“I’m all for us spending Monday together, but I hate when you have to work weekends.”

“I don’t do it that often.” She sticks her tongue out at me. “You’ll thank me on Monday, when I won’t be trying to find a hideout so I can work without distractions.”

I huff a laugh. “As if I’d mess with your work.”

“You do. All the time,” she points out, giggling.

Her reactions are authentically her. She’s so incredibly sensitive to everything.

It doesn’t surprise me anymore, even if this Bella is not at all like the Bella I first met.

Back then, she was guarded, showing only glimpses of her real self.

Now? She has blossomed. I’ve earned her trust, proved again and again that she can count on me.

She’s no longer afraid to be herself, and I couldn’t be prouder.

“I don’t remember hearing any complaints from you.” I laugh loudly, startling Milo from his slumber on the floor.

He lifts his head and looks from her to me, dazed.

“Sorry, buddy,” I tell him.

With a huff, he lowers his head again and drifts back to sleep.

When I look at Bella again, she isn’t smiling anymore. I hold a hand out, and she takes it, slowly rising from her chair. Without argument, she lets me tug her onto my lap.

She winds her arms around my neck and studies me, her expression serious. “What was the pissed-off look about earlier?”

“Mom called.” I heave a sigh. “Audrey found a house nearby.”

“How do you feel about that?” Her expression remains neutral as she skims her fingers along my skin, massaging my neck.

God, I love when she does that. Some of the tension that crept back in at the mention of my sister leaves my body, and my muscles relax a fraction.

“I hate the idea,” I mutter, lowering my head. “I love Audrey, I do, but I’m tired of her overprotectiveness. I’m a grown-ass man, but she treats me like I still need her to hold my hand when I cross the street. It’s bullshit.”

Bella presses her lips together in thought. “Your mom doesn’t think this is a great idea either?”

“She knows my relationship with Audrey has been rocky lately, and she doesn’t want it to get worse.

” I wrap my arms around her waist and press my ear to her chest, listening to her steady heartbeat.

“I’ll call Ryan tomorrow. With any luck, he can help me convince her to find a place a little farther away. Maybe closer to our parents.”

“Let’s hope.” Her barely audible murmur goes straight through my body and settles as a pinch in my chest.

On the surface, Bella and Audrey get along just fine.

But upon closer look, the cracks are visible.

Audrey has made comments when she thought I couldn’t hear her, and that caused the rift between us to widen.

Comments about how my girlfriend is the reason for all the hate I faced after our relationship became public, about how Bella is as selfish and rotten as her ex Miller.

I refuse to let anyone, even my sister, hurt my girl, so I need to come up with a plan for how to change things between them.

I pull back and drink Bella in. God, she’s gorgeous. “How about taking a bath together before bed?”

A smile blooms on her lips, her eyes crinkling with warmth. “Sounds great.”

In one quick move, I sweep her up and stride for the bathroom. The place that bound us together. A place full of us and our love. The place where I can’t stop worshiping her body.

Because that’s exactly what she deserves.
