Story: Cory Sloan is Swearing
“Corrine,” Vi exclaimed on a shaky breath. “What are you doing to me?”
“I’m loving you, baby,” Cory said, giving her a quick kiss on the lips.
“Don’t ever stop,” Vi replied, opening her eyes and gazing up at Cory.
“I can’t.” Cory smiled. She got up and held out her hands to help Vi off the couch.
“Are you kidding me? You expect me to walk?”
Cory chuckled and retrieved Vi’s panties. “I think you’ll need another pair.”
Vi took Cory’s hand and let her pull her up. “I love you,” she said as she put her arms around Cory’s neck.
“I know,” Cory said.
Vi chuckled. “My impatience and your cockiness. A match made in heaven.”
“I’m not cocky,” Cory said. “I can feel your love, that’s how I know. And it’s the best feeling I’ve ever had. Well, that and loving you back.”
Cory held Vi in her arms for another moment then Vi went back to the bedroom to finish getting dressed for work while Cory went back to making breakfast.
“What a way to start the day,” she said, raising her eyebrows.
“I couldn’t agree more,” Vi yelled from the bedroom.
Cory laughed and sipped her coffee.

“Hi Mama´,” Vi said, connecting the call while driving. “You’ll never guess what I did this past weekend.”
“Let’s see,” Josie said, “did you go to bars and try to sell your customers more liquor?”
Vi laughed. “No, I didn’t work this weekend. I went dancing!” she exclaimed. “We did the salsa and rumba and we even did the tango!”
“Good for you. When you say we, do you mean Cory, the woman you play volleyball with?”
Vi chuckled. “Yes ma’am. We’re still on different volleyball teams but we’re on the same side in everything else.” Vi smiled at the mention of Cory’s name.
“How is your job?”
“It’s great. I have all my accounts up to date and am simply waiting for the promotion. In the meantime, I’ve been able to help Cory with the wholesale part of her business. The next time you and Papa come to visit I’ll take you by her store.”
“We’d love to see it.”
“It’s been nice working side by side with someone. Her store reminds me of yours.”
“I think you like her store because she’s in it,” Josie said.
Vi smiled. She knew her mother was right. She loved being with Cory every day.
“Maybe her store reminds you of ours because it has love in it,” Josie commented.
“I’m sure you’re right.” Vi had been thinking about her parents’ store and how she felt about it growing up. There were times when she’d be angry when one of them had to miss her volleyball game and she never understood why they were up there together while she and her brothers were in school. But her opinion was changing and she was beginning to understand as she worked with Cory in her store. They were able to target other locations that Cory could call on while Vi was at work. Then in the evenings they would go over her progress and make new targets for the next day.
“I can tell in our last few conversations how much you like Cory, or are you calling it what it is yet?”
“What?” Vi said, her mother’s voice bringing her back to their conversation.
