Story: Cory Sloan is Swearing
Cory chuckled. “That’s one way to describe her.”
“She’s lovely. I’d just beaten the pants off of you on the volleyball court and she was as sweet as she could be to me,” Vi said.
Cory looked at Vi and furrowed her brows. “You didn’t beat us that badly.”
“Back to the wedding!” Ella and Gia both said.
“It doesn’t matter. Cat swears she’s never getting married or loving anyone ever again,” Cory said.
Vi scoffed. “She may say that, but have you seen her with Elena?”
“I know!” Cory exclaimed. “CeCe and I think the same thing!”
“We have got to start shopping with the Sloan sisters more often, babe,” Gia said to Ella. “We are missing out on all this fun.”
Cory and Vi both looked at Gia then back at each other. They started to chuckle and then couldn’t contain their laughter.
“All this drama,” Ella said after the laughter died down.
“It’s not really,” Cory said.
“Oh really? CeCe has a beauty salon. Drama is what they serve. Add in you two,” Ella said.
“Us?” Vi and Cory said in unison.
“Yeah, from what you’ve said, you started as enemies and now look at you. I’d say Ella and I aren’t the only two people in love in this little circle,” Gia said.
Cory gazed at Vi and grinned. “She’s not wrong.”
“Nope,” Vi replied.
“And what about this secret room in the back of Cat’s bookstore?” Ella asked.
“It’s not a secret,” Vi said.
Cory looked over at her girlfriend and raised her brows.
“Yes, I know all about The Bottom Shelf and have even visited it,” Vi said boldly.
Cory could feel her cheeks heat up at the thought of Vi surrounded by all those sex toys.
“Why, Cory Sloan, I do believe you’re blushing,” Vi said playfully.
“Oh, we’re definitely checking out The Bottom Shelf,” Gia said to Ella.
Cory chuckled. “And I thought gallery openings were stuffy.”
“Not mine,” Gia said with a grin.
Cory smiled and took the moment in. Here she was with her girlfriend, and they were visiting and laughing with their friends. How quickly her life had changed. It’s not that it wasn’t good before, but now she felt like she was thriving and she knew why. Violet Valdez was in love with her and Cory had never felt anything like it.

“Did you have a good time?” Vi asked as she drove them back to her house.
“I had a great time.”
Vi squeezed Cory’s hand and quickly glanced over at her. Those blue eyes were sparkling and she couldn’t wait to watch them darken a little later. “Hey, what were you and Ella talking about?”
