Cory laughed. “Yes ma’am.”

“I’ll be right back,” Vi said, kissing Cory once again. “I really like doing that with you.” She walked out to her car. When she got ready to go to work that morning she’d decided to throw a change of clothes in her car just in case Cory had to stay at the store that evening.

Vi grinned when she saw Cory’s face light up at the bag in her hands. “It’s just a change of clothes.”

“You’re welcome to come home with me after we close,” Cory said, handing her a T-shirt.

Vi smirked. “We’ll see.”

She went to the restroom to change out of her work suit and pulled on jeans along with her tennis shoes. Vi held the T-shirt up and looked at the logo. She couldn’t keep from laughing at the tongue sticking out of that pretty mouth with red lipstick on.

“That shirt fits you perfectly, although you sure did look good in that suit,” Cory said.

“Thank you.” Vi smoothed her hands down her chest and grinned. “I admit, I kind of like this shirt.”

“Thanks for staying,” Cory said earnestly.

“It’s where you are, so that’s where I want to be,” Vi said. “I hope CeCe didn’t mind our honesty. We may have been a little over the top.”

“I told CeCe and Cat how wonderful yesterday was. They know we are on the same team now.”

Vi laughed. “I like our team.”

“Me too.”

Vi looked into Cory’s sparkling blue eyes and melted a little more. Her thoughts had kept going back to Cory throughout the day. She was glad to finally be here with her.

She shook her head and smiled. “How about you show me around the store?”

“What? You don’t really have to help,” Cory said.

“I want to. Besides, it’ll give me a chance to think about what I want to do with my stores when I get the VP job.” Vi crossed her fingers and held them up.

“You’ll get that job,” Cory said.

Vi followed Cory around the store as she explained her strategy on how the store was set up and what she hoped to do going forward.

She waited on customers and even rang some of them up at the register with Cory’s help. They did steal several kisses when the store was empty and Cat came over when she closed the bookstore to chat for a few minutes.

As Cory was closing out the register for the day, Vi hopped up on the counter and swung her legs. “I was wondering if you’d like to spend the night with me after we go to the gallery?” Vi’s heart was racing in her chest at the idea of them naked in her bed together.

Cory stopped what she was doing and looked up at Vi. “We get to dress up, then you’re taking me to an art gallery, and now you want me to stay the night?”

Vi chuckled. “That’s what I’m asking.”

“Violet, there’s absolutely nothing I’d rather do.”

“Good.” Vi nodded and hopped off the counter. “Are you finished with that?”

Cory nodded. “You locked the back doors?”

“Yes, boss,” Vi said with a little salute.

Cory smirked. “We’re done.

“Not quite,” Vi said. She pulled Cory behind a display so they couldn’t be seen from the street. Her lips claimed Cory’s in a sensual kiss as she wrapped her arms around Cory’s shoulders. Their tongues languished in the sensations while their arms tightened around each other.
