Story: Cory Sloan is Swearing
CeCe giggled. “Oh, big sis, you’ve got it bad.”
“Don’t I know it,” Cory said dreamily as she watched Vi walk toward the door of the store.

“Hi Taylor,” Vi said as she walked into The Liquor Box.
“Hi,” Taylor replied. “Cory’s at the bar in the back.”
“Thanks. It’s nice to see you again.”
“Um…”
Vi smiled. “It’s okay, Taylor. Your boss and I are friends now. I promise to be nice to her.”
Taylor smiled. “Oh I know. She’s been very happy all day and keeps looking at the front door.”
Vi bit her bottom lip and couldn’t keep from grinning. “That’s good to know. See ya, Taylor.”
“See ya.”
Vi could hear Taylor giggle as she walked to the back of the store.
“Hey,” Cory said, coming around the end of the bar.
“Hey, yourself.” Vi kissed Cory and couldn’t look away.
CeCe cleared her throat and sipped her beer. “Don’t mind me.”
Vi winked at Cory and sat down next to CeCe. “Hi, CeCe.”
“Hi, Vi. How’s it going?”
“Um, I think you can tell how it’s going.” She grinned at Cory.
CeCe laughed. “So true. I heard you had a date with my big sister and you two are no longer enemies.”
“We are far from enemies,” Vi said with a sweet smile. She turned to Cory. “I was wondering—since I’m responsible for our second date—if you’d like to go to a gallery opening with me?”
Cory raised her brows. “We’d get to dress up.”
“You wouldn’t mind?”
“I’d love to see you dressed up, Violet. That means I’d have to be on my best behavior though.” Cory frowned.
Vi giggled. “It could be fun.”
“I’d love to go with you. I didn’t know you liked art.”
“We have plenty of time to learn all kinds of things about each other. Wouldn’t you agree?”
“I do,” Cory said, returning her smile.
“When is it?” CeCe asked. “I’d be happy to do your hair.”
“You would?”
“Sure. An art opening is a special night. If you’re dressing up, let me do something special to your hair.”
