Story: Cory Sloan is Swearing
Cory and Vi both looked at her and smirked.
“When Ella and I got married, I was living in a little guest house on her parents’ property. We loved that little house and stayed there until we needed to move,” Gia said, patting her belly.
“It sounds like Vi has thought about this and wants to invest in your future in every way. But if I may…” Ella said, holding up one finger. “This is really a nice home and it made me think of you two. Let’s look at it—”
“And make our decision even harder?” Vi asked.
Ella chuckled. “Exactly.”
“I thought your company name was Make It Easy,” Cory said.
“It will be easy, once you see all your options,” Ella replied.
“Okay,” Vi said, taking Cory’s hand. “Lead the way.”
“Let me show you the features of the kitchen, then I want to walk out these large doors to the backyard.”
“Do these open or slide out of the way?” Cory asked. “It’s like you can’t tell if they're doors or windows, but whatever they are they give you such a nice view of the backyard.”
“They are folding glass doors,” Ella said.
“Oh, I’ve heard of these, but haven’t seen a house with them,” Gia said.
Ella opened and folded the doors back, making a large opening into the backyard and patio.
“Oh wow! That is so cool!” Vi exclaimed. “With some nice patio furniture and that ceiling fan going we could be out here most of the spring and fall.”
“I can picture that,” Cory said, walking out on the patio. She smiled and turned to Vi. “We could string up lights like the ones in the bedroom at the townhouse.”
Vi’s eyes widened. “Oh, I like that!”
“As you can tell, the house is in the shape of an L. The patio extends to the end of the house then the backyard opens up all the way across,” Ella explained.
“Hmm, we could put in a pool!” Cory exclaimed, looking over at Vi.
“The kids would love that!” Gia said.
Cory and Vi both whipped their heads around and stared at her.
“My kids,” she clarified, rubbing her belly.
“That’s twice in two days someone has mentioned kids around us,” Vi said, gazing at Cory with her brows raised.
“Just because someone says it doesn’t mean you have to have kids,” Gia said. “I was talking about our kids. Surely you’re going to invite us over. We’re friends, duh!”
Vi and Cory both laughed. “Yes, we’re friends,” Cory agreed. “Plus, Violet is going to make me an aunt. We would be happy to include your kids because I’m telling you, we are exceptional aunts.”
“I’m sure you will be,” Ella said. “Our kids could use a few more aunts. Come inside, we’ll see the backyard again from the primary suite.”
They followed Ella back into the house and down a hallway.
“There are two guest bedrooms here with a shared bath that’s easily accessible from the main living area,” Ella pointed out.
Cory and Vi walked through each bedroom and the bathroom.
“Then down this hallway is the primary suite. Just wait until you see this bath,” Ella said.
They walked into the primary bedroom which was quite large. Another large door with floor to ceiling windows opened up to the backyard.
