I won’t stop her. I won’t tell her no. Refuse her anything. But if this is what she wants them by god will I make sure she has the skills to do it. Because this time, when we face him, it will be us the victors. Us who come out on top.
I know that fight is coming. I know Darius hasn’t simply slinked off into obscurity. He’ll want his revenge. He’ll be planning something even now. He’ll be coming up with a way to kill us both.
Roman
Ileave Rose only to put Lara to bed. Ben put a Christmas movie on for her to watch and I got downstairs to see she’d fallen asleep next to him.
I carried her up, tucked her in, and then went back to our bed.
Only Rose isn’t in it.
I frown, glancing around the room and then I hear her moving in the bathroom. She’s run a bath. She’s lit candles. She seems like some great stress has finally been lifted.
“Hey.” I murmur leaning against the doorframe.
She turns, giving me a smile. “Is she asleep?”
“She was watching movies with Ben.” I say. “She was already out so I carried her up.”
My eyes glance at the tub. It’s filled, with bubbles and everything.
“You wanted a bath?” I ask.
“I thought we could have one together.” She says.
I tilt my head. She sounds nervous. Like she’s suddenly unsure of everything again.
“Alright.” I say walking over to where the damned bag is for her arm. I think we’ll both be more than glad when the cast is off.
She holds her arm out, pulling the baggy silk sleeve of the robe she has on, out the way. I slip it in place and secure it while she pulls an annoyed face.
“You’ll be free of it soon.” I state.
And in truth we’re lucky she didn’t have more injuries. She did jump from a helicopter after all.
She slips the silk robe off and it pools at her feet like water. I blink feeling my dick react as I realise she’s naked. She looks down at herself, wrapping her arms in a way that tells me she’s more insecure than she used to be.
I want to tell her how beautiful she is. I want to reassure her but as I go to speak the words I remember her reaction last time. That he obviously said that. That he told her that.
I let out a sigh, pulling my own clothes off as she turns and steps into the water.
“How is it?” I ask.
“It’s perfect.” She says running her hands through the bubbles.
I could sit opposite her. The bath is certainly big enough for me to do so. But instead I slide in behind her, pulling her body into my chest.
“We’ve never done this.” I murmur.
She sighs, relaxing enough to tell me she’s okay with me being this close, that she can tolerate my touch again.
“That’s why I thought of it.” She replies. “I wanted new memories. New moments.”
I plant a kiss on the side of her head. “That’s all we will have from now.”
She places a hand on my thigh, letting out a low breath. “Thank you.”
“For what?” I ask.
