“Yes,” I whimpered, not caring how I sounded.
His finger flitted across my mound as his mouth sucked me hard. I cried out, my back slamming against the wall. My orgasm washed through me, making me feel weak and powerful at the same time.
Flynn lifted his eyes to mine and deliberately licked his lips. He stood and his hands moved to take off my shirt. He unclasped my bra, his hands cupping my breasts.
I leaned into his touch, shuddering when my nipples pebbled. “How is it that I’m entirely naked and you’ve still got your clothes on?”
“I’m waiting for you to undress me.”
I reached for his sweater and pulled it over his head. Next came his shirt. I took a moment to stare at his chest. Hard, muscular, covered in dark hair. I stroked a finger down the center of him, enjoying the sharp inhalation of his breath. I might have been nude, but I’d never felt more in control. His head dipped to kiss me when his pant pocket vibrated. He growled, even as he fished it out. He cursed and answered it.
“What?” He paused, his eyes lingering on my face. He sighed. “I’ll be right down.”
He hung up and kissed me briefly on the lips. “I’m sorry. There’s a situation I’ve got to handle immediately.” His eyes roamed the length of my exposed body. “I can’t believe I finally have you naked and I have to go.”
I reached out to touch the bulge straining through his pants. “Try to think about work,” I teased.
“Not when I’ve got visions of you coming in my mind.”
“Maybe you should try to wrap up everything quickly and then come back.”
“Invitation?”
“Yes.”
“So you’ll stay tonight. In my suite?” He trailed a finger down my neck before circling a nipple. It tightened immediately.
“Yes, I’ll stay.”
Chapter 17
I woke up in the morning alone and dissatisfied. I blamed Flynn. He’d never come back to his suite. I waited up until about two but when it was apparent he wasn’t coming, I sulked off to bed. Flynn’s minimal but lavish attention had only inflamed my desire.
After I got dressed, I tossed my dead cell phone into my purse, ready to head home. I took the private elevator down to the lobby and on my way out, I left a message for Flynn with the concierge. I took a cab home, stopped at the corner bodega to get a weak cup of coffee, and then slowly trekked up my apartment stairs. When I got inside, I looked around, feeling like I’d been gone for days.
Plugging in my cell phone to let it recharge, I kicked off my shoes and then stripped on my way to the bedroom. I needed to go for a run. I was sluggish and tired, and it would help. I threw on some exercise clothes and then was out the door.
When I returned an hour later from my run to a fully charged phone, I saw that I had fifteen missed calls. As I scrolled through the missed messages, my cell rang.
Ash.
“Have you seenThe Post?” she asked without preamble.
“No. I don’t read the paper,” I said.
She sighed. “You’re in it.”
“What do you mean I’m in it?”
“Just what I said. Get your computer.”
I opened my laptop and navigated toThe Post’swebsite. I skimmed through the headlines, gasping when I saw my picture.
“What am I doing in the paper?” I asked, attempting to read the article while Ash babbled in my ear. “I’ll call you back.” I hung up on her so I could fully take in the story.
I was in the damn paper!
And the headline was less than flattering.Hotel Mogul’s New Girlfriend Seen Leaving With Unidentified Man.
