Page 174 of Princess of Bael
We were made for each other, something our bodies proved by how well we fit together. My wings brushed hers as our hips joined, our tongues speaking a foreign language only our spirits could understand. A sensual embrace. A perfect one. A beautiful union of pleasure and pain andlove.
Her nails bit into my shoulders as her climax hit her, the display of ecstasy stealing my breath and forcing me to follow.
But we weren’t done. Not even close. This was our version of a wedding, our bodies the ones speaking vows and sealing secret promises between our souls.
I went to my back as she continued to ride me, her wings splaying out around us in a beautiful curtain of red and black.
Then I took her again.
And eventually, we ended up in the sky, her power battling mine as we danced in a way only beings of our kind could.
Naked.
Covered in sweat.
Surrounded by feathers.
A glorious experience that seemed to go on for days. And maybe it did. Time no longer held any meaning between us. Just the present and what we felt right now.
For our bond represented the balance.
Which was safe for now.
There were threats still lingering in the wind and a strong likelihood of war on the horizon, but Kayla was my world now. Mine to protect. Mine to cherish. Mine to love.
My Divinity.
My heart.
My purpose.
Anyone who dared lay a hand on her would meet the end of my sword.
Because I would kill for her. I would die for her. I wouldexistonly for her.
My Archdemoness of Divinity. The perfect representation of balance. My mate.
“Until death do us part,” she whispered against my ear, making me grin. The phrasing was very humanlike, but it held a double meaning that melted my heart.
“That sounds like an invitation for more foreplay, my queen.”
“You did say we often fought before fucking in your dreams,” she replied breathlessly, her wings beating behind her. She’d clearly been practicing using them over the last few months. “How about you elaborate on those dreams now?”
My smile deepened. “How about I show you when we go home?” I offered instead.
“And where is home, exactly?” she asked, pulling back to stare into my eyes. She had her legs wrapped around my waist and her arms encircling my neck, our wings keeping us steady in the sky well above Bael’s realm.
“In between the realms,” I told her. “But only if you want to help me rebuild.”
“Does that mean you would live here if I asked?”
I nodded.
“Even though it weakens you?”
“By your side, I’m never weak,” I replied, meaning it. I’d entered the realm with no issues and had found her almost immediately.
Of course, it had helped that Bael had allowed the breach. One of his Royal Guards had met me at the gates before showing me up to Kayla’s quarters—by order of her Archdemon father. I hadn’t known what he would do when I’d arrived, and I hadn’t really cared.
