But a fiery kiss of heat stilled the words before they could leave.
I arched a brow as a flicker of embers fell over me, burning away the fabric of my sweater and jeans, but not singeing the skin beneath. I could have dispelled the power, just like I’d smothered her earlier ball of hellfire.
However, I rather approved of where this was going. So I embraced her energy and allowed her to weave her flames through the fibers of my clothing.
She ran her gaze over me as the scraps of remaining fabric fluttered to the ground around me, leaving me clad in only boxers and shoes.
I kicked the shoes off along with my socks and eyed her heels. “Leave those on and get up on the bed.”
Her glittering irises suggested she wanted to argue the command, but her arousal told me she wouldn’t.
She kept her eyes on me while she moved backward toward the mattress, her long legs allowing her to climb up onto the bed with ease. Her wings ruffled, sprawling behind her as she lay down with a come-hither glance.
“Stunning,” I praised her, loving the way her reddish-black plumes contrasted against her pale skin. “Fucking exquisite.”
My little heiress had blossomed into a queen.
Her heels slid across the quilt as she bent her legs. Then she spread them in welcome and lifted her arms up over her head.Still waiting for you to prove that we’re made for each other, Archangel.
Did you transition into an Archdemon or a Succubus?I asked as I knelt on the bed.Because I’m struggling to tell the difference.
I pressed a kiss to her knee and set the dagger down beside her hip. It dissolved in the next second, returning to my weapons vault—which had not been destroyed during the attack because of the magical enchantments I kept around it. But it didn’t exactly exist in physical form at the moment, either, unless I touched the item.
Or Kayla touched it.
Her link to me granted her access to everything I owned.
Which I supposed meant she really would inherit my armory if I died.
A pleasing realization, she mused, her mind obviously melding with mine and granting her full access to my every thought.
You’re the only one allowed to kill me, my queen,I whispered back to her, my lips skating up her inner thigh. But I’m going to endeavor to prove why you shouldn’t even try.
Oh?The breathy little sound turned to a moan as I pressed a kiss to the damp lace covering her warm center.
Yeah, oh, I murmured in reply. As much as I enjoy this lingerie, it’s hiding the part of you that I intend to devour.I gripped the sides and snapped the delicate material before she could reply.
But she didn’t protest.
Instead, she groaned, her mind continuing to dare me to prove our connection.
Which I proceeded to do thoroughly with my tongue.
I didn’t stop until she was panting and on the verge of exploding. Her growl when I lifted my head made me smile. “Proof enough yet, darling? Or do you need more?”
“Ezra.”
“That’s not an answer.”
Fire lanced my spine, her power threatening to burn me. I defused it with a quick balance of icy energy. Kayla’s hips arched up in response, but I pushed her back down with my palm against her stomach, my tongue swirling around her tender clit.
She wanted to fly.
I could feel it in the tension radiating through her limbs, her soul demanding a rapturous sensation that only I could give her.
It’d been my intent to torment her for hours, but I couldn’t. I wanted to feel her fall apart. To detonate. To scream with passion.
Two of my fingers slid deep inside her, curling upward to stroke her intimately as I applied pressure with my mouth against her sensitive nub.
