Page 93 of Master's Rise
The other Enforcers are in a stock room that looks more like a junk room. Parts are piled high. I see light from their cams but not the main room. “Deacon is dead,” Brinks tells him.
The pussy is surprised. Brinks uses that to pick up an exhaust pipe and swings it at the mechanic’s head. The pussy is down yelling for help. I laugh. I love my Brothers. The other mechanics start moving toward Brinks and Tommy picking up weapons as they go.
“Boss, confirmed as in...”
I cut him off. “Your call.”
He uses his pipe to hit another and Tommy shoots one with the laser. The two Enforcers come in from the back surprising the mechanics. A pussy flies through a windshield and I’m pissed I didn’t see who threw him.
“Brinks, Target is up.”
He turns and shoots the pussy. “Clear, Boss. Thanks.” His cam is bouncing everywhere. I watch the security feed and laugh. It’s an all-out brawl. The Enforcers are using everything in the shop to beat the shit out of the mechanics. Two minutes and one pussy is still standing. Brinks shoots him with the laser. I guess he’s done.
“Clear, Boss.”
“It doesn’t sit right, Brinks. They tore apart the garage. I feel like they got off easy, sure the owner is dead, but someone else will step in.”
“Got it, Boss.”
He gets the Enforcers to drag the mechanics out and walks around looking at the walls. I look over to Falcon’s feed and see he’s fighting someone. Jordan looks calm so it’s good. When I look back, Brinks is playing with the electrical panel. The Enforcers are chaining the mechanics onto a car. I don’t get it. Brinks steps back from his wires and aims at the panel. When I see the blue, I laugh. He’s crazy. We watch the wires burn going up then across the walls. The lights explode and Brinks decides he’s done. Turning, he walks out like the building isn’t ready to burst into flames.
“Clear, Boss.”
“Fucking Brothers. Good job.”
He’s just getting to the car when the Enforcers push it. Brinks cam shows an arroyo ahead that’s got to be a twelve-foot drop.
I wish I was there. They don’t wait for the car to hit. The building is smoking when he pulls out. Inside shows black smoke. It’s been seven minutes.
“You’re clear to the Club, Brinks.”
“Roger, Boss.”
“Anton, watch his six and hook me in to Falcon.”
“Roger, Boss.”
I’m stunned. He’s never done that before. Web laughs telling him Falcon’s done. I look around and everyone is watching but no one is talking. They’re all clear. Falcon is too. Hade and Vick hand me lists. I like the bullet points.
I hit the Op open mic for all the Op centers. “You’re clear, Jordan.”
He’s smiling. “We are. Controls are bringing the last in but all targets and teams are clear. No casualties, four injuries, all minor.”
“Major, you’re clear.”
“We are, Cort. All Teams are in and we had no injuries. They cleared all the threats.”
“Maverick, you’re clear waiting on teams?”
“Roger, Cort. The last is ten out. Two injuries. I wish we had the suits. One flesh, one stable at the hospital.”
Fuck, my list shows injuries but not what. “Soon isn’t soon enough. I hope he makes it back quick, Brother.”
Maverick nods. “I’ll pass it on. Even with the injuries, this worked well for us. Your Ops Control saw more than we did a couple of times.”
Anton has them up on my screen so I can see all the Presidents and Maverick together.
“I think so too, Brothers. We ran more today than I ever have at one time. The split teams made it feel almost easy. I don’t think I gave your Enforcers an order. They run themselves and count on us for keeping their six clear. Mobile restock is something we’ll add. It’s more of a help than I thought it would be.”
