Epilogue
One month

Standing at the windowed wall, I look down seeing Ops running smoothly. The Brothers are focused and surveillance is up on three screens. Chaps has help today,in case of distraction, he told me. He’s happy to be back from Colorado. He likes our office with desks and stations that are set up for him.
Leaving them to it, I go to the window and look out over the games being set up. Movement at the new building catches my eye. I shake my head. Seren and Victory are following Alder and Asa, they all have trays in their hands. Ant Irma declared today Akai and Alta’s birthday. While the Brothers are playing, the kids are having a pool party. Rex, Patcher and Ant Irma are the only adults allowed. Web gets to have cake with them, but only because he baked it. I smile at that, Amos baked it because Web’s cake looked like shit.
“Pres?” His voice alone makes me smile.
I turn at Anton. “Yeah, Brother. Did he get the plans?”
He nods like a bobblehead. “Good job. He’s driving me fucking nuts with the phone calls. This seemed easier.” Major’s calls about his new building have gotten out of hand.
I get another nod and big smile. “You did a great job at Church, Brother. We’re done for today. Have fun at the party.”
His excitement shows. “We’re racing too.” I’d swear his body is vibrating, but I’m not close enough to see it.
I smile. “I heard. Rex said he has games like the Brothers set up but most are in the pool. Have fun with it, Anton and you get to replay the highlights at the fire later.”
His smile is going to split his face. He’s cute. “Amal will tell.”
I nod. Amal is the talker for them. “Go before you miss anything.”
He turns and runs. I laugh.
Since my phones not ringing, I head out. Hade meets me on the stairs. “Boss,”
I throw him chin. “You think we’ll have enough food?”
He shrugs. “If it gets low, we can order pizza.”
Good plan. “Yeah. Freedom playing today?”
“Nah.” He looks back as Raid and Falcon laugh.
Raid explains the laughing. “She said if he rode the back, she would.”
I can’t hold it and laugh. That sounds like Freedom. “I want to see him do the weenie bite. Seren may have competition.” Falcon gets a punch to his arm for that but I can’t stop laughing trying to picture Hade balancing on the back of Freedom’s bike.
Mounty meets us on the grass, he must have been in the Training Center.“Boss.”
I throw him chin. “Your girl doing the games?”
He smiles. “She doesn’t think she’d beat Hade here but she’s willing to try.”
Hade chases him while we make our way to the tables laughing. My fucking Brothers love talking shit. Mounty runs behind the food table with Hade gaining on him. We all stop when Hade flies through the air tackling him like a professional football player.
“Holy fuck!” Jinx starts laughing from the other side of the table.
Of course, we move faster to see how that worked. Mounty is face planted in the grass. Rex is yelling at them to get the fuck away from his food. We’re doubled over laughing.
Hade gets his knees under him and moves to the center of Mounty’s back. “How about I ride you through the fucking games.” Fuck, he’s pissed.
Mounty laughs. “You can ride behind me. It’d still be a fuck of a show for the Brothers.”
Jesus, they’re funny. Everyone close is laughing. I stop with Seren’s words crossing my brain. He’ll hear this one for weeks. Poor bastard. He stands up and walks away.
