“Roger, Boss.”
Kissing her head, I start moving but keep talking. “Beacon and Sharp will pick you up. Ant Irma is in the market during a hostage situation. I’ll call you with an update. Don’t talk Ops with anyone or it could get me or them killed.” I hit the button and my gear closet opens.
Her huge blue eyes are beautiful, but I’m not telling her. “Everything you just said is normal to you?”
I smile her way pulling on my pants. “Yeah.”
She opens drawers in the dresser finding her clothes. “That one is yours,” I tell her pulling a T on.
“Thanks.”
I watch her pulling panties on wishing I could slide them off. It takes me a minute to turn away before I move to do just that. The bra is just as sexy.
Slamming a clip in has her jumping. I fill my pockets with gear going right down my legs. Web set me up so each drawer is a pocket. It works for times that I need to move fast. Like now. I smile walking out and closing the door.
“What do I say? Good luck seems stupid. Ant Irma needs better than that.”
Hearing Raid outside has me moving faster. I smile at her cuteness. “See you on the sunny side. I need to go. I can explain it later.”
“See you on the sunny side, Cort.”
With a quick kiss, I’m out.
“Cort.”
I nod. “Status?”
“Still walking back and forth in front of the doors. No casualties or injuries while Brothers have been there.”
I check to make sure the Kevlar is flat around my neck and flip my visor down. “We’re moving, Jinx.” He knows right where we are, but now he knows it’s okay to talk to me through the helmet.
“Roger, Boss.”
“Falcon tell you we picked up more Security jobs?” Raid asks as we hit the highway.
“I was seeing them before they left. Is it Maddox?” I went after them last month after a try for one of their kids.
“Yeah and Sutton. Carlson wants in but had some payment issues.”
Fuck. “No, I already turned him down. He tried out his commander voice, then the demanding one. Whine and beg ain’t working either.”
He laughs. “Falcon didn’t like the beg but said he’d bring it to you. He offered monthly payment upfront.”
“Still no. He’s a little too shady for me. Wants Security but won’t say why there’s a desperate need. To me, that means he wants a shield. Enforcers needed on a job is not a problem but he doesn’t want to pay for that, he just expects it to come with regular Security. He won’t tell me why either.”
“Drugs, guns or trafficking?” He doesn’t miss much.
“That’s my guess. He knows it would be a no before he asked.” We take the exit putting us in between our town and the next.
He’s quiet until we pull in. “He knows you have the gun shops?”
I shut my bike off and pull my Glock. “I didn’t ask. Jinx?”
“Security is set. Sniper is following him.” He switches us on with Security. “They’re on, Boss.”
“Sniper, keep him in your sights. Security, stay back and cover your Brothers.”
This is Dave again. Fucking pussies piss me off. With my helmet on, I walk right to the door with my gun aimed at his head. The pussy is raw, it looks like he’s got a full body friction burn. With a blast of air, the doors open and I shoot him with the laser. His impression of a live wire doesn’t excite me. I keep walking pulling off my helmet. “Ant Irma?” I yell.
