Axel didn't take his eyes off the creature, but the creature also seemed to be staring at him.

"Shoo, shoo, go away," Axel's voice came out sounding about as dominant as Little Red Riding Hood had probably sounded. Nice one thinking about Little Red Riding Hood, Axel. She got eaten by the wolf.

He sounded like he'd sucked in a million balloons filled with helium, his voice sounding high and squeaky.

The animal didn't listen this time. Instead, it seemed to come closer to him.

Run, Axel, his brain screamed, but his legs didn't seem to be getting the memo.

Suddenly, a wave of calm washed over him, and he was less terrified. Wait, how was that possible?

At this point, the wolf was close enough that Axel could see that he or she had blue eyes.

A blue-eyed wolf, was that a thing?

The wolf seemed to be circling him and sniffing, but for some reason, Axel wasn't afraid anymore. It was like someone had slipped him a Valium or something, because he was completely calm and unafraid.

The wolf came back to the front and seemed to stare at him, and for some reason, Axel got the urge to pet it.

He must have gone full-on crazy... but when Axel looked the wolf in the eye, it looked happy. Could wolves smile?

That was a question he never thought he would ask.

“You're a pretty wolfie, aren't you?” Axel hoped his voice sounded soothing.

But he meant what he said. It was, up close. Axel could see the wolf was grey, but it had chestnut, with reds woven through it.

"Okay, wolfie, I'm going to turn around and leave now."

The wolf let out a growl at those words that had Axel freezing again. Whatever calm he felt disappeared and he was about to bolt when the air around him seemed to shimmer, and in front of him was a man... A tall, very hot, veryarousedman.

Axel blinked a couple of times, but the man before him was still there—a man that had just been a wolf... Was this a dream?

Axel used his right hand to pinch his thigh and yelped.

Nope, not a dream. The large wolf had just turned into a human, ahothuman, who seemed to be staring at Axel with a huge grin.

Axel wasn't sure what to do. If he wasn't dreaming, was he hallucinating? Because wolves didn't become men, not in reality anyway, right? But then, the Wolfman came closer to Axel, stepping into his space, and he spoke.

“Hey there.”

Axel didn't know if love at first sight was a thing, but he was pretty sure he'd just fallen in love.

“Hi,” Axel waved, and felt like a weirdo for doing it.

That just seemed to make the man before him grin even wider. Axel wasn't sure what was happening, but right then and there, he knew he'd just met the person he was meant to spend his life with.

As much as that thought settled, his mind still fought to understand what was going on, what he was seeing, but the more he fought it, the more he felt like someone had slipped him more of that calming drug, and some happy pills—and apparently horny pills along with it.

But none of that was enough to stop him from blurting, “Holy fuck,” right before he passed out.

Malek

Malek moved quickly the moment he saw the beautiful man's eyes roll back. He caught him before he could hit the ground, scooping him up in his arms.

Even with the pack on his back, the man didn't weigh much. Right on the heels of that observation, Malek's nostrils filled with the enticing scent that had drawn him in this direction in the first instance.
