He was so happy, and if the stunned look on his mate's face was anything to go on, he was excited too?

“Babe, Malek, are you happy?” Axel whispered.

“I,” Malek looked at Axel stunned, closed the gap between them and picked Axel up, his arms around Axel’s waist.

‘“I can’t believe this,” Malek leaned back so they were looking at each other, “We’re going to be parents.”

“We are,” Axel replied, grinning alongside Malek.

“So what now?” Malek asked.

“Well, we need to figure out how the whole pre-natal stuff works, I’m guessing I can’t walk into a hospital, I’d have a hard time explaining how a cis-gender male ended up pregnant.”

Malek snorted, “Right, of course. I have to call my Papa, they wanted to come home early from their trip and meet you, but I told them you’d still be here when they got back. But papa is a doctor. He’s the one that will know what to do.”

“Right, right great, because I have a lot of questions.”

Like where the fuck was this kid coming out of. He had a feeling he knew, but, well, he wasn’t focusing on that.

“We should probably go up to Manchester as soon as possible so that we can get my mum off our backs for a while,” Axel said.

“We don’t have to hide this, any of this from them. They’re your family. If you trust them, then I do too,” Malek said

“Really?” Axel’s eyes widened, he’d not been expecting that. “I thought we would have to come up with a story or something.”

“For other people, sure, but I want your family to be a part of your life, and that means they should be able to come to visit you if they want to. We can certainly skip the whole wolf thing, or even the pregnant thing. Just whatever you want angel. I trust you.”

“I love you,” Axel said, laying his head on Malek’s chest. “So, tomorrow morning off to Manchester we go.”

“Yes, and we can finally bring all your things home with us.”

Home.

Yeah, that was what Whitfell had become for him. His home.

He just had to figure out how to share that with his family, and just how much he wanted to share.

“So how doI introduce you to my mum?” Axel asked.

Malek took his eyes off the road for a second to look at Axel, before focusing back on the motorway. They were on the M6 about to arrive in Manchester, and it occurred to Axel that he couldn’t exactly gohey mum this is my mate.

“How about fiancé,” Malek said, glancing Axel’s way, “We can’t exactly say husband even though it would fit.”

Axel grinned wide.

“You’re my husband now?” Axel teased.

“Well, in the eyes of every shifter, we are married.”

“Well husband, I think fiancé will work for my mother. I don’t think she’ll get mate.”

His mum would seemateas mate… like his friend. And Malek was so much more than that. He was the love of Axel’s life and the soon to be father of his child.

That was another thing. Axel was having morning sickness, at least that was what he assumed his bathroom wake-up call was. So far it was only in the mornings, and he hoped it remained that way. He so wasn’t willing to explain to his mum why he was being sick.

She would fuss and insist he saw a GP or something and they definitely did not need that happening right now.
