Since it was the city they’d had a nice choice of hotels to choose from. Malek also made a reservation at a restaurant, but he had a feeling they would end up at a chip shop, since his mate kept hinting that he would love chips, sausages, drowned in curry sauce, and maybe a Pukka pie, and some fish on the side. There were also mushy peas mentioned at some time too.

And Axel’s wish was his command.

Malek would have stopped at a chip shop for Axel, but his mate insisted he was fine and could wait until his brother met up with them. He wasn’t even sure why he’d bothered with the reservation now, since Axel had been drooling when he told Malek there was a chip shop they both loved in the city within walking distance.

The reason he’d left his mate alone and was now walking to his car was because after checking in, Axel had dragged Malek along to Primark to pick up a couple of items. His mate had bought sweats, and things that stretched for when he stretched. Although that was a joke he knew not to make…again.

When Axel had dragged him into the high street store, Malek had tried arguing with him, especially since there was a Selfridge’s they could nip into quickly, but Axel stood his ground and insisted Primark would do since he would probably only need them for a short length of time.

Malek wanted to shower Axel with the very best, but he also wanted to provide his mate exactly what he wanted, so he’d caved and that was how they’d ended up shopping in one of the largest Primark stores in the UK.

But his mate seemed happy, so he wasn’t complaining. Malek had a feeling he would be caving a lot when it came to his mate and their child.

Axel

When Malek told Axel to rest ,he didn’t think he would actually fall asleep, but he did, and he was woken up by a phone ringing.

Axel knew it was his, because Malek’s phone was always on silent now after it kept waking them up. Although Axel knew his mate could hear his phone vibrate even from a room away, so he had a feeling it was more for his benefit than Malek’s.

When Axel answered the call, Rowan started speaking immediately, “Our kid? I’m downstairs.”

Axel laughed and yawned, “Come up and see the room. We’re in 181.”

“Later mate, come down. Had nothing to eat in ages. Need some scran,” Rowan whined.

Axel snorted, “Be right down.”

“This place is well mint,” His brother added, before hanging up.

He didn’t have to look around for his mate, he felt the moment Malek came into the room. He smiled at Malek, before asking, “How far away can you hear?”

Malek grinned, “Far.”

“Thought so.”

“Ready?”

“I’ll just go wash up, my mouth feels angin’,” Axel scrunched his face at the bitter taste in his mouth. He shouldn’t have had that glass of milk earlier.

But it was all he’d felt like drinking when they’d had a cuppa at his mum’s house. His mum liked Malek—in her own way, that was—or she would have kicked up some kind of fuss when he’d mentioned moving out. But she didn’t, she’d actually brought some suitcases out and left him and Malek to pack in peace.

Axel hadn’t felt as weepy as he thought he would be, standing in his empty room. He actually felt that finally after twenty-seven years his life was finally beginning.

He hadn’t taken anything except his clothes and his books, but it also made Axel realise he hadn’t accumulated much when everything he wanted to move out of his mum’s house fitted into the boot of Malek’s car, and the back seat.

What did that say about how he’d lived his life? But all that was changing, and the little one that was already messing with his sense of taste and smell was proof of it.

He didn’t realise that his body would start craving things, and smelling so many things so quickly. And since Axel knew he would only be preggers for four months, he figured he needed to get into Primark and get some things.

Axel snorted as he cleaned his teeth, when he remembered the look on Malek’s face as he’d dragged his clearly posh mate into Primark, but Axel didn’t see the point of buying anything expensive.

Axel put his Toms on. He was glad he picked them up since all he’d been wearing were the hiking boots or trainers, but finally he was back in comfortable shoes.

They walked to the lift and stepped in. All the way down he leaned on his mate. Before they got to the bottom floor, he whispered to him, “Can’t wait to go home.”

Malek looked down at him, his gaze soft, “We’ll be home soon.” His mate placed a kiss on his cheek just as the lift doors opened.
