Page 93 of Loving Wild
“Push your fingers inside, Ren, let me hear how wet you are.”
With zero embarrassment, I move my phone between my legs and rest it on the bed as I push two fingers inside myself and pull them out slowly. The sound of my arousal fills the air, and I hope the phone picks it up as I move my fingers in and out.
“Jesus fucking Christ,” he groans. “Babe, fuck I wish I was there. Use two hands. Keep working those fingers inside, use your other hand to keep rubbing your clit. You know you love it when I do it like that. When I slide my cock in and out and rub at that sweet spot with my thumb or fingers. When we both watch where we’re joined, Ren, how fucking hot is that?”
I bite down on my bottom lip and nod. Wishing he was here, that I could feel the roughness of leg and chest hair against my skin, the weight of his body on mine, his woodsy, citrusy scent surrounding me.
“Use your words, Ren. Tell me how hot it is? I know you love it because I can feel it. When I’m buried inside you and your juices fucking coat my cock, I love it. Fucking love it, baby. Love you so fucking much.”
I let out a groan as my legs twitch, my stomach convulses, and my insides contract.
“That’s it, baby, give it to me. Let me hear you.”
“Yes,” I hiss. “Fuck, Gabe, yes. Yesss . . .” I trail off as my mouth hangs open while I come and come and come, my back arching with the power of my orgasm.
“Fuck . . . fuck me,” Gabe groans down the phone as I move it back up to rest on the pillow beside me. The room fills with the sound of our heavy breaths, and for a long while, we say nothing, as a sense of contentment I haven’t felt all week washes over me.
“We’re gonna be all right, Little Bird. I’m gonna fix us, and we’re gonna be all right.”
Tears spring to my eyes. I’ve done so well until this point, but lack of sleep and that orgasm have left me drained, and I’ve no strength left to hold them back.
“We’ll fix each other, Gabe. This isn’t all on you. We both need to work on this and do better.”
“Whatever it takes, baby. Whatever it takes.”
There’s another long silence before he asks, “You ready for sleep now?”
“Hmmm?” I question because I was in fact, starting to drift.
“You’re ready for sleep. Don’t hang up, let me listen to you sleep. I’ll end the call once you start snoring.”
“Gabe,” I half-heartedly protest.
“Babe, we both know you snore, no good denying it. Never thought I’d say this, but I actually missed your snoring this week.”
I’m sure Gabe had more to say, but I don’t remember a word as I slowly drifted off.
* * *
After spendingthe morning clothes and sex toy shopping with Jo, I crash and fall asleep in the afternoon, making me late to get ready for our girls’ night when I do finally wake up.
I keep my outfit simple. New jeans tucked into my new, tan coloured, knee-high boots, an off the shoulder blouse in a blue and rust colour combo that makes my eyes and hair colour pop perfectly, and a lighter tan leather jacket that I picked up for an absolute bargain in a vintage and preloved clothing store; the colour of which, contrasts perfectly with the boots.
I hear voices and laughter coming from the kitchen. After a final check in the mirror and another spritz of perfume, I go out to see that everyone is already here and drinking.
“Hey. Wow, looking hot, Mumma. How you doing?” Jess is the first to move towards me for a cuddle as I come through the double doors into the kitchen area.
“Mmmm, smell good too,” Jess says as she holds me against her. “You doing okay?” she asks against my ear. I smile and nod because I am. After last night/this morning, I know me and Gabe are gonna be fine. Yeah, we have issues and shit to work through, but like Jo keeps reminding me, we love each other, and that’s where we’ll start.
“We talked,” I tell Jess but see the eyes of everyone are on me so I step away, take the drink from Jo that she’s passing me, and move to stand around the other side of the bench to where the girls are all sitting on stools, or standing, so I can face my audience.
Wincing as I sip the very strong gin and tonic Jo gave me, I take in the faces of Jemma, Lou, Jess, Sam and Dani. Jo is standing beside me and already knows I’ve spoken to Gabe and the decision I’ve come to.
“Just gonna put this all out there, then I don’t want to talk or hear about it for the rest of the night.” Like a pair of puppies, Dani and Lou both tilt their heads to the side as they listen.
“So, Gabe and I talked last night, or the early hours of this morning . . . whatever, anyway. We talked, and we’ve agreed that we both need to talk to a counsellor, whether that be a couples counsellor, or someone we see for our individual issues, or a combination of both, I don’t know, but we’ve agreed to do whatever it’s going to take to make us work.”
“Yaaaay,” Lou gives a little cheer and claps at my news.
