Because that was exactly what he was attempting to be—an alternative outlet.
Oh, I see. He wants to play.
A dangerous proposition, given my mood.
I blocked him in with one arm, making the stone behind him heat to dangerous temperatures. My hips grazed his, keeping him in place as my violence quickly turned into arousal.
Which was probably exactly what Melek had anticipated.
“Why are you goading me?” I asked him, finally seeing through the haze of my temper enough to realize what he was doing.
Melek grinned against my mouth. “Is it working?”
I bit his lip in response, hard enough to draw blood. He didn’t flinch. Instead, he licked his tongue over the small hurt as if begging for more.
“You need an escape, Ty,” he said, softer this time. “I denied you an escape earlier. If you need to take out your anger on me, I will gladly bear it.”
I thought back to the flames Melek had painted, an accurate depiction of my love right now. Anyone close to me was prone to being burned.
“I don’t want to hurt you,” I whispered against his lips, already shoving my tongue into his mouth.
He took my violent thrusts, only speaking when I moved to his neck to mouth his pulse. “I was made for you, Ty. There’s nothing you could do to me that you haven’t done before.”
I doubted that.
I couldn’t remember a time I had been quite this angry.
This pent-up.
When Melek whispered a spell that rendered him naked before me, all muscle and man with an erection leaving little doubt of his willingness, my resolve faltered.
“You told me to fix the problem here,” I reminded him, my senses slowly dissolving into ash. “Now you’re distracting me.”
“Because you’ve been here for hours, Ty. It’s going to take weeks to rebuild the castle on your own. You need to take a break.”
“I need to find out who did this.”
“Yes,” he agreed. “But you’re not going to accomplish that in this state. You need to calm down first. Think clearly.” He grazed my lower lip with his teeth. “Fuck me, my king. Escape for a little while. Empty your head of everything except us.”
I narrowed my gaze at his beautiful face. “I can’t tell if you want me to use you or if you’re distracting me from something.”
“Both,” he admitted. “I want you inside me. And I want to distract you from killing Cami tonight.”
I rolled my eyes. “It’s all about her these days.”
“It’s not,” he whispered. “It’s aboutyou. But you don’t see it yet, Ty. Someday, I hope you will. But to do that, you need to focus. And I know a good way to help you do that.”
“Sex.”
“Sex,” he agreed, his fingers running up my arms as I tightened my grasp around his throat. “No limits tonight. Anything you want.”
My blood heated with the prospect of playing with my prince in such a manner. He was a gift. A prize to be cherished. The perfect mate.
I am,he agreed, clearly having heard my thought. Now indulge me, my king. Otherwise, I’m going to go find an Unseelie to play with.
My eyes narrowed.Taunting me isn’t advised, little prince.
Who says I’m taunting you, my king? Maybe I mean it.
