CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

Skylar

“Fuck! Harder!”

My head is yanked back by my hair, my bobbing throat exposed as Cassius rails me into the next century. I’m on the tips of my toes, my body jolting forward with every thrust of his ridiculously fat cock. I try to push back and help him, but he has my hips pinned against the bathroom counter.

Apparently, we have a thing for bathrooms.

“Are you close?” he growls in my ear, reaching under me to jerk my leaking dick. “We don’t have much time. Come for me, sunshine.”

If I wasn’t already close, that raspy command would have me exploding in an instant. My body jerks as I cry out and coat his hand in cum. Cassius grunts and presses me down with a dominating hand on my back, rutting into me until his own release follows. He slumps on top of me, the heavy weight of him comforting as I try to catch my breath. While I love a rough fuck, it’s Cassius’s sweetness I’ve started to crave immediately after. He rubs his hands up and down my trembling sides, spooning me, and keeping me safe.

We’ve only fucked a handful of times, but oh my God , it’s everything. My Cassy is a closet freak, and I’m here for it. Every time has been better than the last—rougher, needier, hungrier—and I can say my hole is thoroughly satisfied with this arrangement.

On top of fucking, we’ve added more ‘ MUSTS’ to my list. Like the time we went to the beach and I got stung with a jellyfish. We know that pee isn’t really what you need to cure the sting, but it was thoughtful that he offered anyway.

MUST BE WILLING TO GO THE DISTANCE.

And then there was the time we stayed up until the sun rose, watching old Western movies that I’ve already seen dozens of times. Cassius isn’t the biggest fan, but I know he likes watching me recite the script while the actors do.

MUST MAKE SACRIFICES.

Prom is off to a great start too. Cassius and I have been helping Sadie get everything set up. When she couldn’t find a location, I managed to convince Davis to close the club down one night so we could throw it there. Although he wasn’t as quick to agree as he was to whip out his checkbook, he caved, especially when Max came in a few seconds later with a rhubarb pie.

All in all, it’s been an eventful few weeks. The list is growing, my sexual appetite is thoroughly quenched, and the prom is coming together. Life has never been this good—this wonderful—and I’ve been walking on Cloud Nine, just basking in it.

Cassius shifts, and I whine, reaching back to try to keep him inside me as he pulls away. “No, not yet.”

He chuckles against the back of my neck, resting his lips there for a brief second before shaking his head. “We have to go. We’ve been in here too long.”

“You care about that?” I wrinkle my nose. “There are like seven bathrooms in this place.”

“Don’t you want to support your friends?” he throws back with a cocked eyebrow.

Ugh , why does he always have to be so reasonable?

“Fine,” I relent, stretching once he pulls out, and wincing as cum trickles down my thigh. I bat my lashes at him pleadingly. “Can you clean me up before it gets on my pants?”

He nods. “Of course, sunshine.”

“Do you think anyone heard us?” I ask as he cleans me up and starts righting himself. “I was kind of loud.”

He shrugs as he finishes buttoning his pants. “Meh, I’m sure it’s fine.”

Once we’re ready, he takes my hand and opens the door. We run into a thick wall of man hunk, and I stagger back as I blink up at Max. He’s standing there, jaw hanging slack, with wide, questioning eyes.

“Um, hi,” I say sheepishly, sneaking a glance at Cassius as I rock on my heels. “I’m guessing you?—”

“Heard that entire thing?” He nods rapidly. “I wasn’t being a creep or anything. I’m just bi-curious.”

Cassius snorts as he places a protective arm over my shoulder. “Good to know.”

“So…” I’m not really too sure how to respond to that. With Max, I don’t know half the time. “Come to any realizations?”

Max shakes his head, but all three of us can’t ignore the boner he’s sporting under his dress pants. When he sees that we’ve taken notice, he throws his hands over his crotch and muscles past us. “Got to shit!”

The bathroom door slams shut behind us, and I try my hardest to keep it in, but I burst into laughter. When we hear a loud almost satisfied groan coming from the background, I look up at Cassius and laugh even harder. “A shit?”

“Must have been a good one.” He shakes his head fondly and squeezes my shoulder. “Alright, come on. Let’s see if we missed anything.”

He leads us through the wide hallway, and I wonder how Max even found the bathroom we were in. The Hill’s mansion is gigantic, and there were at least four bathrooms we passed in our quest for privacy. It’s like a maze trying to make our way back to the backyard. Once we do, I’m already fanning myself. Don’t get me wrong, I love living in Miami, but does it always have to be this fucking hot .

Granted, we all couldn’t ask for another night off, so Elton and Knox had to settle for throwing their wedding anniversary party during the day. Since they did, everyone from the club is here, along with some family friends who look very ritzy. Elton told us the dress code was casual, but there was no way in Hell any of us were listening to him when we found out it was going to be at his parents’ house.

Cassius looks extremely dapper in his slacks and dark grey button-up shirt, such a contrast to his usual ripped jeans and baggy band shirts. The only one who actually listened to Elton was Max, who probably has his army green cargo shorts around his ankles right now.

“Where were you two?” Rhys asks us as we settle next to them by a garden table. With the way he’s eyeing us, he totally knows what we’ve been up to and is just being an ass.

Everest must know that too, because he rolls his eyes and lightly punches his shoulder. “Be nice.”

“Did we miss anything?” Cassius asks, ignoring Rhys’s comment.

Everest shakes his head. “Nope. Everyone’s mingling so far. Elton wanted him and Knox to make a grand entrance, so we’ve just been waiting.”

I chuckle, because that sounds just like Elton. I take a second to people-watch and turn back to Everest with a question. “So, does Elton actually know all these old people?”

When Cassius snorts, I pout. “What?”

“No, he doesn’t.” Rhys smiles and shrugs. “The Hills are cool as fuck, but they’re still rich as fuck. Some people you invite because you have to. Not because you want to.”

“Speaking of that…” Everest mutters, eyes shadowing with reservation as he looks at something behind my shoulder. “Archibald.”

I turn, brow furrowed at the man approaching us. He looks so…familiar. He’s tall, lean, with stark black hair and dark gray eyes. There’s something about his composure and the casual yet guarded way he walks that sparks deja vu in me.

He stops in front of us, greeting us all with a slight nod of his chin before addressing Everest. “This is a lovely gathering.”

“Thank you very much,” Everest replies, and my eyes nearly pop out at the one-eighty his voice took. It’s so… cold . Is this how rich people talk to each other? Like it’s all some kind of big competition to see who can be the best robot? “How are you these days?”

“Well,” Archibald grunts as he looks around. “Where is my brother?”

I cock my head and throw Cassius a questioning look, but he just shrugs. Enough of this…weird tension. I stand happily and thrust my hand out at Archibald. “Hi! I’m Skylar!”

He looks down at my hand, not in distaste but apprehension. Finally, he takes it and gives me a firm shake. “Archibald. Pleasure to meet you.”

My best friend doesn’t bother standing, simply up-nodding at the fancy man. “Cassius.”

“You’re looking for your brother?” I try to make conversation. “Do we know him?”

“He’s talking about Knox,” Rhys grunts, eyeing Archibald with distaste.

I barely contain my gasp. This is Knox’s brother. Don’t get me wrong, I figured he had a family, but I also always imagined Knox just appeared in the universe a tattooed bad boy with an attitude problem. Like maybe he came as a peace offering from the lizard people that live in the sewers.

“He hasn’t come out yet,” Everest says politely, but there’s a bite to his tone.

Archibald doesn’t bristle, and something tells me he must be used to it. He sighs deeply, glancing at his watch before nodding. “I have a meeting in an hour. If I can’t see him, could you please tell him I came?”

My eyebrows pinch at that. There’s something almost pleading in his request that has even Rhys’s eyes widening. Everest nods slowly, eyes calculating as he watches Archibald walk away. Once it’s just the four of us again, I plop down in my seat and slam my hands excitedly on the table. “Okay, there’s gossip here. Spill .”

Everest rolls his bottom lip into his mouth, shooting a questioning glance at Rhys, who just shrugs. “Knox’s family isn’t exactly…”

“They’re a bunch of elitist pricks,” Rhys finishes for him, probably a bit more crudely than Everest would have put it.

“I wonder why his brother bothered showing up then,” Cassius muses as he plays with the hair on the back of my neck. “Appearances?”

Rhys shakes his head. “No. Apparently, Archibald actually wants to have a relationship with him. He’s the only one in the family who was invited.”

“Thank fuck for that,” Everest snorts. “The twins are creepy as shit.”

“Wait, how do you know all of this?” I ask Rhys. “Aren’t you two supposed to be dueling for who can swing their dick the highest?”

Cassius snickers beside me as Rhys frowns. He shifts uncomfortably in his seat as the tips of his ears turn red. “Knox and I are…friends. I guess. Maybe.”

“Haven’t you heard? They’re besties now,” Everest teases, mostly just to wind up his fiancé. “We’ve all been hanging out.”

Well, that’s nice, at least. That whole thing that went down with Everest and Knox and then with Knox and Elton was all one big clusterfuck. Soap opera material, I tell you. All involving a lot of the same people too. Don’t get me wrong, it was fun to watch, but it’s also nice knowing we’re a big happy family now. Although, I will admit, I’ll miss the way Rhys and Knox used to lunge for each other’s throats. Maybe they’ll still do it now, only with love.

Aw, that’s actually really fucking cute.

“I see my employees are having a good time.”

“Jesus fucking Christ!” I yell, just a touch too loudly, causing a gaggle of rich people to eye me curiously. I ignore them as I turn to Davis and frown. “Where did you come from?”

Davis, always impassive, doesn’t answer. He takes a sip from a fancy-looking glass and eyes the crowd. “This is a nice gathering. Elton invited me.”

Rhys cocks an eyebrow. “And you came?”

I can relate to Rhys’s incredulity—even Cassius seems a bit shocked—because Davis never comes out with us. Granted, he’s our boss, so it’s not like we invite him everywhere, but I kind of just thought he lived in the club. Or is a vampire. I mean, I’ve only ever seen him at night so…it tracks.

“Knox and Elton work for me and they’re only moderately cringe-worthy,” he responds, taking another sip. Still, looking around the crowd, his lips purse.

“Looking for someone, boss?” Cassius asks as he leans forward to cock his head.

“Where’s the new bartender?”

I snort. I don’t know how long Davis insists on calling Max “the new bartender.” I turn to Cassius and smile. “Think he’s done by now?”

“Done with what?” Davis nearly snaps. When we all widen our eyes at him, he clears his throat and corrects himself. “He has something I need.”

“Can we help with that?” Everest asks.

Davis… Oh my fucking God . He’s flushed . “No. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to find Butch.”

Cassius juts his thumb over his shoulder where Butch is talking to…Archibald? Apparently, a very lively conversation by the way he looks ready to pummel him into the ground.

This is the best party ever .

Davis walks away before I can pry into, well, everything. I lean back in my seat and giggle, rubbing my hands mischievously. “Do you know what this means?”

“We can’t get trashed now?”

I narrow my eyes at Cassius. “ No . I now have fuel for my fanfiction.”

“Please, don’t tell me you’re still making chibis too,” Rhys groans, rubbing his temples. “The ones of me and Everest have scarred me for life.”

I’m about to frown until Everest leans forward to whisper to me. “He’s a big liar. They’re framed in our living room.”

I smile and open my mouth to tease the fuck out of Rhys for that, but a round of applause cuts me off. Turning toward the house, I see that Elton and Knox have finally made their appearance. They’re both so handsome that it’s like watching movie stars walk down the red carpet. I jump to my feet, cheering them on as they pass by their guests. Elton has the biggest smile on his face, practically beaming, while Knox is grimacing. I can figure that this isn’t his type of thing, but he loves Elton enough to go through with it.

They stop briefly to hug who I suspect are Elton’s parents before making their way up a small platform at the edge of the garden. God, he’s so extra. Elton takes a microphone from someone and holds it up to his mouth. “Wow, thank you so much. I can’t tell you how much Knox and I appreciate every single one of you here today.”

From what I’ve learned, that’s doubtful, but audience participation isn’t necessary right now.

“I want to say a few words, but first, I’d like to turn your attention to my wonderful husband.” Elton holds out the microphone at Knox who simply stares at it. Then Elton leans in and mutters something in his ear, which causes Knox to roll his eyes and snatch the microphone.

Oh, Knox speaking publicly in front of Miami’s rich and elite?

Best. Party. Ever.
