Page 30 of Beautiful Trauma (The Irish Rogues #5)
A fter Kellan headed to Leo Neretti’s, I made a mad dash the two blocks to my apartment. I gave a quick hello to the doorman before I rushed to the elevator.
When I got inside, I headed to my walk-in closet. I would’ve loved to have bought something new, but Kellan hadn’t given me enough time to go shopping.
As I stared at the contents of my closet, I repeated Kellan’s instructions, “Formal but sexy.”
I flicked through the dresses, silently vetoing them one after the other. But when I came upon a sexy little red number I hadn’t worn in years, I paused. While it fit the formal bill with its beaded straps and bodice, it was practically backless and had an almost indecent hemline.
With a maniacal laugh, I jerked the hanger off the rack. Since Kellan wanted to be all secretive about our date, I would make him regret it with my choice of outfit.
During a long and luxurious shower, a reel of X-Rated images flickered though my mind of my office sexcapade with Kellan. Heat bloomed in my core.
But then in the next breath, Dima’s agonized scream echoed through my mind, sending anguished tears to my eyes. How could I possibly think of having a date when my brother was in such physical and emotional agony? Even if he didn’t want me in his room, I should be there in case he changed his mind.
After turning off the shower, I wrapped a towel around me and went in search of my phone. As much as I hated to do it to Kellan, I had to cancel our date. I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t.
When I picked up my phone, I gasped. I already had a text from him. I had remembered to unblock him before we left the gallery.
Don’t overthink tonight, Mila. We’re two young people searching for some much deserved enjoyment. The problems with our families, what happened with Brian, and Dima’s recovery will still be here tomorrow. Let’s just forget for tonight. —K
I hiccuped a cry. God, how did he already know me so well? With trembling fingers, I texted back.
Okay. I will.
Good. Now go make yourself beautiful and stop overthinking everything.
“What the hell?” I muttered under my breath.
How did you know I was overthinking?
Because I know you.
That sounds rather creepy, Mr. Kavanaugh
It’s factual since I’ve known you in the biblical sense at least three times.
I snorted very unflatteringly at his response.
Keep being creepy, and you won’t have me biblically again.
You can say that when I’m not there. But you know the hold my magic pierced cock has over you.
Bastard
I’ll see you in an hour.
And then he had the audacity to leave me a winky-faced emoji.
True to his word, Kellan buzzed my phone exactly sixty minutes later.
Come on down. I’m waiting outside for you.“
Be right there
I stopped before the mirror in the foyer to gauge my appearance. My hair fell in waves to my shoulders while my icy blue eyes were heavily lined, giving them a smoky look. I’d chosen blood red lipstick to match my dress.
And the scrap of fabric I was wearing molded to my curves like a second skin. With each twist and turn before the mirror, I felt more and more giddy.
Tonight was going to be everything I so desperately needed it to be. Like Cinderella, I didn’t care if everything was going to go to hell at midnight. I was going to enjoy the time I had in my fairy tale.
After taking the elevator downstairs, my stilettos clicked along the marble floor as I made my way through the lobby. When I stepped out into the fading sunlight, I glanced left and right.
When I caught sight of Kellan, my heart did a girly flutter. He stood outside a blacked out SUV that I’m sure must’ve belonged to the Neretti family. Instead of his usual suit and tie, the man was wearing a tux.
A sinful black tux that was tailored to highlight every bulging muscle in his ridiculously gorgeous body. As my gaze swept from his head down to his toes, my mouth ran dry.
Kellan must’ve felt my eyes on him because he quickly flicked his gaze to me. At the sight of me striding towards him, his eyes bulged. “Jaysus, Mary, and Joseph, Mila,” he said in a strained voice.
“Do you like my dress?” I teasingly asked even though he was practically panting.
“That dress is pure sin.”
“So is the woman inside it,” I replied with a wink.
He laughed. “Yes, I know.”
As I ran my hand up the lapel of his tux, I said, “You outdid yourself, Mr. Kavanaugh.”
“Thank you.”
Cocking my head at him, I asked, “Since it’s very evident that this is a designer tux, did you bring it with you to Philly?”
With a grin, he replied, “I did.”
“For you to have gone to all that trouble, you must’ve thought I was a sure bet.”
“What can I say? I’m blessed with my powers of persuasion.”
“Or maybe I’m just easy?”
He playfully rolled his eyes. “There’s not an easy bone in your body, Ms. Difficult.”
“I mean, sexually easy.”
“But my plan didn’t involve sex. It involved romance.”
“Speaking of, are you going to tell me now where you’re taking me?”
An absolutely devious look flashed in Kellan’s eyes. It sent a jolt of heat to my core. After reaching into his tux pocket, he pulled out a black, satin scarf.
When he held it out to me, I said, “That doesn’t go with my dress.”
“It’s for your eyes.”
“Excuse me?”
“It’s a blindfold.”
I gasped. “I thought you said this was about romance.”
“It is.”
“Blindfolding is about sex. Kinky sex if we’re honest,” I replied.
Motioning to the scarf, Kellan argued, “This is about keeping the secret as long as possible.”
“Fine,” I huffed.
After glancing left and right, Kellan said, “Maybe we should do this in the car.”
“Are you afraid if we do this on the street that people will think you’re kidnapping me?”
He gave me a sheepish look. “Maybe.”
“Fine. I’ll get in.”
Of course, in my skimpy dress, that wasn’t as easy as I thought. “Oomph,” I muttered as I collapsed onto the seat.”
“Mm, I’m enjoying the view,” Kellan teased.
When I realized my ass was completely exposed in my thong with my hiked-up hemline, I scrambled to sit up straight. I threw Kellan a murderous look over my shoulder. “That was very ungentlemanly of you.”
“You’ve been a bad influence on me,” he replied as he hopped in the SUV.”
“Ass!” I replied before smacking his arm playfully.
Kellan chuckled as he waved the scarf at me. “Ready for this?”
“As I’ll ever be.”
“What if I promise to let you use this on me later?”
A wicked grin curved on my lips. “I like that idea a lot.”
“Then I’m yours.”
After sliding the material over my eyes, Kellan tied it in the back. He must’ve waved his hands in front of me because he said, “Good. You can’t cheat.”
The driver gunned the engine, and the SUV started moving forward. “Will you give me any hints about where we’re going?”
“Maybe.”
“Is it somewhere to have dinner?”
“Yes, we’ll have dinner there.”
With a frustrated breath, I huffed, “That doesn’t tell me shit.”
Kellan laughed. “Sorry. That’s all you get.”
“Considering we don’t need to be in public, I guess I can mark a club off the list.”
“This time at least.” Kellan leaned his head forward, sending his breath warming my cheek. “One day I want to take you to my brother-in-law’s club.”
“Is it like Bandia?”
His lips brushed over my cheek, causing me to shiver. “It’s a sex club.”
I gasped. “And you’ve been there?”
“I have. I spent more time in Heaven than Hell though.”
“Excuse me?”
Kellan chuckled. “It’s called Inferno for Dante’s Inferno. While there’s dancing on the first floor, the second is male and female strippers–”
“Ooh, I’d like to stop there for a lap dance,” I teased.
His breath shuddered against my cheek. “You like women, too?”
With a shake of my head, I replied, “No. I wanted a male dancer.”
Silence echoed around us. At the feel of his hand on my thigh, I jumped. It slid up under my dress, pulling the hem up.
As cool air swirled around my center, I couldn’t help wondering about the driver. Was he watching what Kellan was doing to me? Although I wanted to say something to him, there was also something erotic about being watched.
When Kellan’s hand slipped further up my leg, I widened them for him. Just as I expected him to rub my clit, he smacked my pussy.
Hard .
“There will be no male lap dances, Mila,” he commanded in an impossibly deep voice that shot straight to my core.
My chest rose and fell with harsh pants. “Why not?” I challenged.
The question earned me another smack. Arousal coated my thong, and I whimpered. “Because my cock is the only one that you’ll be rubbing against.”
“You sound like a caveman.”
“I don’t share,” he growled.
Since I liked playing with fire, I asked, “What if I wanted you and another man?”
His response was to shove my thong aside and ease two of three his thick fingers inside me. I moaned and bucked my hips. “As long as I have a breath within me, there’s no other man for you.”
As he pumped his fingers wildly, both mortification and desire rocketed through me at the squelching sounds from my pussy around his fingers. “Say it. There is no man but you.”
With each thrust of his fingers, his thumb rubbed against my clit, sending me into sensory overload. “Say it!”
“There’s…no…one,” I mewled.
“You will never let another man inside this pussy but me.”
“No one…I promise.”
Thrusting my hips up, my head fell back as the orgasm charged through me. “Oh, Kellan!” I cried.
Although I couldn’t see him, I heard the unmistakable sound of him licking me off his fingers.
The wet pop.
The slurp.
The groan of pleasure from him.
“I can never get enough of tasting this pussy,” he murmured.
He hadn’t commanded it, but I moaned, “Only you can taste me.”
“That’s right, baby. Only me.”
Once his fingers were cleaned, he started pulling the hem of my skirt back down. “Wait, I either need to clean up now, or we need to make a pitstop at the restrooms inside.”
“I’ll take care of that for you.”
I smiled. “Thanks for the aftercare, lover.”
Kellan chuckled before moving away from me. Cocking my head, I listened as he rustled around in a bag. Then a citrus smell invaded my nose through the blindfold. A cold wipe slid along my thighs and then against my pussy.
“All done.”
“My knight-in-shining-armor,” I mused.
“Smartass,” he laughed.
As the car slowed down, he pronounced, “We’re here.”
Butterflies flurried around in my stomach. As much as I’d fought against Kellan and his surprise, I really was excited to see what he’d come up with.
“Before you can panic that everyone is going to see you with the blindfold, I’m taking you in the back.”
“The back of what?” I pressed, hoping he would slip up.
Kellan tsked at me. “Nice try.”
The door opened then, and the heat from Kellan’s body disappeared from beside me. A few moments passed before he commanded, “Take my hand.”
Blindly, I reached out until I made contact with Kellan’s hand. Gently, he tugged me forward. When I thought I might fall on my face, Kellan’s strong arms came around my waist. He then eased me off the seat and then on to my feet.
“Just let me lead you.”
“Okay.”
Kellan pulled me against his side, sliding a comforting arm around my waist.
“Have a good evening, Mr. Kavanaugh. I’ll be right here when you’re done.”
“Thank you, Tony.”
As we started walking away, I couldn’t help asking, “Did he…”
Kellan chuckled darkly. “Oh yeah, he heard us.”
Mortification rocketed through me. “How do you know?”
“He’s got fucking sweat trickling down his neck.”
I tried smacking him, but since I couldn’t see, I missed. “Easy, killer,” he teased.
I heard the sound of a door click open before a blast of cool air encased my body. Instead of concrete, my heels clicked along a tile floor.
“Almost there.”
Instead of responding, I let him continue leading me. At the opening of another door, someone said pleasantly, “Good evening, Mr. Kavanaugh.”
“Good evening.”
“We have everything set up for you for dinner. Should you need any technical help, we’ll be just across the hall.”
“Thank you.”
Technical help? What the hell did he have in store for me? Once the door closed again, Kellan stepped behind me. After he untied the blindfold, he slid it from my eyes.
Fear spiked through my body when darkness enveloped me.
Before I could ask what was happening, the ceiling above me glittered with stars. In the center, the beam of a full moon lit up the shadowy places in the room.
Slowly, I began to turn, taking in everything around me. The more I saw, the more my heart beat accelerated wildly in my chest.
The rows of leather seats.
The observatory telescope in the center of the room.
The cellist playing classical music.
The rows of burning candles in tall glass votives around a single table set for two with a white tablecloth.
Whirling around, I stared wide-eyed and wide-mouthed at Kellan. “You brought me to a planetarium?”
