Page 53 of ARIDHI: His Never-Ending Desire
A crown of pure rubies shouldn't look so beautiful as the one looked in front of me in a glass box.
This valuable crown is beyond any golden trophy.
The best part? It matches my engagement ring. But the worst part? I'm not currently wearing it.
When I was fighting with those goons, I removed my ring. And then forgot to wear it again.
I internally cried but it was soon replaced by happiness when I heard Ruvit's deep throated voice.
“Can I have this golden privilege to crown you with my own hands, M'lady?”
He walked towards me, making my heart flutter for god knows how many times.
The director looked at me expecting an answer for Ruvit's question.
I gave a nod and decided to tease him, “You have already crowned me as your queen the day you met me. Isn't it?”
My voice was low so only he could hear.
His ears turned a shade of red as he mumbled, “Not here, Jaan. I have a reputation to maintain.”
“Uh-huh.” I flirted, eyeing him from top to bottom.
The hostess removed the glass box and kept it aside, showing the true picture of the crown.
“It's so pretty.” I gasped, the red reflection of the crown worth all my attention.
Everyone stood up from their seats. Keeping their palm on one side of their chest, they bow down their heads in respect.
Ruvit picked up the crown when the hostess suddenly warned, “Careful, Mr. Rathore. The crown is heavy.”
But he lifted it up effortlessly despite her warning. And suddenly the veins of his hands become way more attractive.
This man is making me crazy without even trying.
I shook my head to remove all the inappropriate thoughts about him and focused on the crown.
Placing it down on my head elegantly, Ruvit made sure it doesn't fall and ruin my hairstyle.
Yeah, the crown is heavy. Therefore, I supported it with my own hand after Ruvit removed his.
It sat perfectly, making me a little comfortable. Now I just have to balance its weight.
The rounds of applause break into the background. The click sound erupted all over the auditorium.
“Congratulations, Ms. Agarwal!” I appreciated everyone's wishes with a smile but a particular wish made me blush.
“Congratulations, Mrs. Rathore!” Ruvit placed his arm around my waist, taking a selfie of us.
“By here we now declare Ms. Aridhi Agarwal as the Business Queen by all means.” The hostess announced on the mic.
The director started talking with me about some random business matters, making the environment chirpy.
I nodded while answering him but then I saw Ruvit telling something to the hostess.
I know Ruvit is just maintaining his professional image in front of her but my blood is boiling.
The hostess kept smiling at him which made me more angry.
What the fuck is he even talking about with her? I will kill this man if he doesn't stop right now.
He turned around meeting my eyes. The sudden eye contact made me startled.
I immediately looked away, focusing on what the director and his subordinates were saying.
“On such a special occasion, I would like to keep a request from Mr. Rathore and Ms. Agarwal.” Everyone looked at the hostess.
Yeah sure, request me to not kill you for getting my Ruvit's attention.
Ruvit agreed with a nod, his eyes fixed on me and waiting for my approval.
I swallowed to calm down my anger, “Pardon me in advance if the request doesn't match my standards.”
Ruvit slightly chuckled and the hostess spoke in an awkward tone, “Don't worry about that, Ms. Agarwal.”
Nodding my head in agreement, she further added, “Your engagement party was private so no one could get to witness that legendary moment.”
She got nervous, “I wanna request you two to recreate that moment here if you don't mind.”
Her request surprised me. I didn't actually expect that but yeah, my anger seemed to subside.
My eyes shifted to Ruvit who raised his eyebrow and slowly mumbled, “Do you want to?”
It is actually a good idea. But my ring is in my purse and the purse is in the car.
Nevertheless I said, “Sure.”
Everyone started cheering loudly and paparazzi were ready with their cameras.
I'm gonna be a celebrity from tomorrow, for sure.
Grandma came in my view, her face was nothing less than the shine of those sparkles.
She is ageing like a fine wine though, without much makeup and surgeries.
Beautiful on the outside but ugly on the inside.
Ruvit took out a ring from his pant's pocket and no doubt it's my engagement ring only.
He walked closer to me, handing me his engagement ring which he was wearing all the while but removed it just now.
“Yay!” The audience shouted in enthusiasm.
We stood in the centre of the stage while looking at each other.
The memories of our engagement filled my mind like a beautiful nostalgia.
It was a surprise planned by our parents but this moment is totally agreed upon by us or probably planned by him.
He talked about this topic with that hostess, didn't he?
A small melody started playing in the background and dreamy sighs spread in the atmosphere.
And if that was not enough, Ruvit went on his one knee which earned squeals from the audience.
“If the thought of you in my head is a sin, know that I am committing this sin since the day you entered my life with no turning back.”
“Your melody is hypnotizing in a way I hate admitting yet drowning for more.”
“In your presence, I feel like my soul has discovered a home in another soul. In your eyes, I see my future and in your smile, I find my strength. In your dreams, I find my identity.”
“Today, from this day onwards, I am no one without you as I give you all of me, my forever, my everything in front of the world. I love you beyond these words, beyond our bodies and beyond this universe.”
“You will always be my never-ending desire because even if you become all mine and dedicate yourself to me wholeheartedly, I wanna have the feeling of winning you over again & again. So, my dear eternal, will you become my Ardhangini in every form of life?”
Tears of happiness escaped my eyes as I gasped loud and clear.
Whoever said that words can lie definitely didn't include Ruvit's.
I wiped the tears when Ruvit forwarded his left palm and I placed my left hand on his.
Clutching it tightly and dropping a kiss specifically on the ring finger, he slid the ring there.
He stood up as I held his hand in mine.
“Yes, I will become your Ardhangini in every form of life. You will always and forever be loved by me and my soul even after death, my dear Ardhang.”
We both smiled looking at each other as I slid the ring on his ring finger.
I hugged him by wrapping my arms around his neck. He picked me up from the ground and hugged me back more tightly.
The crowd cheered for us and captured the memories.
“Let's do sniper-wifey trend.” Ruvit whispered against my ear, putting me down. “But it's for married couples.” I said.
“Doesn't matter. I wanna do it now.” Ruvit complained like a small kid asking for candy.
“Okay fine.” I giggled before looking at the cameras.
“Sniper. Sniper. Sniper. Sniper. Sniper.” He showed—no flexed his ring finger in front of the audience, making them go wild.
“Wifey. Wifey. Wifey. Wifey. Wifey.” The cameras turned at me as I tapped my ring finger five times according to the trend.
Everyone hooted and once again congratulated us.
I won — in both — my career as well as my love life.
?
The moment I have been waiting since the morning has finally arrived.
Finally it's me and my Ardhangini.
Stepping out of the shower with just a towel wrapped around my waist, I ruffled my hair.
The droplets of water descended down my body.
I looked at the time, 10:00 pm.
Perfect, it is going to be a long night.
I turned my head to look at Aridhi who should be sleeping on the bed but it was empty.
Did she choose to change her dress?
She seemed so tired to even change her dress that the moment we stepped in our room, she flopped on the bed.
Meanwhile grandma left for Delhi and informed us that she would be waiting for us with a surprise.
I don't care about her surprise, I need answers from her.
“Are you sure about this?” I heard a manly voice, coming from the living area.
Who is this man trying to dig his own grave?
“Hm.” Aridhi's stern reply got my attention as I made my way towards the living room.
She was standing beside the sofa, back facing me while her phone was on the speaker.
My eyes drifted to her bare back, the zipper and the ribbons on the sides of her dress were both undone.
I silently took a few steps closer and as she was about to turn I hugged her from behind making her gasp.
Her back was pressed against my bare chest causing her cheeks to turn red.
“Ruvit!” She rumbled but controlled her voice due to the call, “What are you doing?”
Her nails dug in my hands which were on her waist.
I placed my chin on her shoulder, unbothered from her little struggle.
She glanced back at me and whispered, “Why the hell are you not wearing anything?”
I grinned at her as she blushed, “I just took a shower, jaan.” I whispered in her ear.
“Agh.” The person on the call coughed, “It's all sorted then. Thank you ma'am.” He abruptly cut off.
“Jaan…” I traced my fingers down her waist, “Who were you talking to just now?”
“So now you will keep a check on my activities or what?”
“Answer.” Biting down on her neck, I demanded.
Her head tilted back at the sensation as she said in a breathy voice, “It was my assistant Naksh.”
I traced my lips to her ear, “You won't address anyone by using my before their name or title other than me.”
A shiver ran down her body as her ears turned pink, “I am tired, Ruvit.”
“You weren't tired when you were talking with that asshole, hm.” I spoke while planting kisses all over her shoulder.
She swallowed, making me more impatient.
“We have an early morning flight to Delhi tomorrow. So…just sleep.” Her voice was hesitant like I would pounce on her if she offended me.
“I warned you that after the event, it would be our night, fiancee.” I pressed on my last word.
Pressing my lips on her neck, she moaned. I swirled her around and held her neck to caress the parts I just kissed.
“First you would give me princess treatment all day and then suddenly you become dominant at night. What is this bipolar behaviour, Mr. Rathore?”
I gave her a smug smile, “I don't become dominant, Mrs. Rathore. I just changed my ways of giving princess treatment.”
“Oh?” She gave me a seductive look, “Such a tease.” I rubbed my thumb on her lips before capturing them in a kiss.
She wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me back.
I kissed her with fervor, devouring her lips and my tongue seeking entry into her mouth.
My hands roamed over her back, needing to touch and explore every inch of her.
My desire for her consumes me, unable to get enough of her. I need her and I want her.
She responded to my kiss with equal fervor, her lips moving urgently against mine.
I'm completely lost in the moment, consumed by my need for her.
Pressing her body firmly against mine, the kiss turned more rough, intense and aggressive.
After a few minutes, she tapped my shoulder, indicating me to break the kiss but I have no such intention.
Her breath ragged as she gasped out my name, “R-Ruv…”
I smirked against her lips before pulling away, “We need to work on your stamina, baby.”
Her eyes moved down and a red hue covered her cheeks.
Placing my index finger under her chin, I lifted it up, “No need to get shy, my body is all yours.”
The blush grew deeper as she snapped my hand and looked away, “I want to sleep.”
I crossed my arms and pinned her with an intense gaze, “As my lady commands.”
She looked at me, “You are letting me sleep?”
“I can still do my work while you are asleep.” She smacked my shoulder, “Jerk.”
A low chuckle escaped my lips.
She walked inside the bedroom and came back to me with a t-shirt and sweatpants.
Handing them to me, she walked back to the bedroom and just as I was about to follow Aridhi, her phone vibrated.
I looked at the phone, the screen glowing with ‘Gungun dadi’.
Who is this gungun dadi now?
As far as I know, Aridhi's grandmother was gone long ago.
I picked it up and put it on my ear, waiting for her to speak first.
In the meantime, I wore the t-shirt and sweatpants.
“Aridhi! It's me, Ruvit's grandma. I just want to apologise for everything I did wrong to you. I didn't know ‘War’ was your grandfather or you were the Business Queen. Don't worry, I won't stop you anymore. You are absolutely perfect for my grandson. I hope you two live happily…uh hello Aridhi? Are you—”
I hung up before she could complete her sentence.
Duh, her hypocrisy.
The way she immediately changed sides is not settling in me.
Also, she sounded scared just now as if she just don't want to go against Aridhi in any way.
Wae? Is she hiding something?
My mind went to all the past memories I have about grandma. From the very childhood to till now.
And guess it worked because something clicked my brain.
On the day of bhaiya's wedding, I remembered her conversation with Ananya.
She was talking about something related to the past which could ruin my relationship with Aridhi.
What was that? Maa interrupted me at that time so I couldn't get to know.
But now that grandma is okay with Aridhi, she would drop her plan. Or has she already executed it? What. The. Fuck.
I ruffled my hair, trying to calm myself down.
Relax, think Ruvit think.
The only past accident which connects me and Aridhi is her grandfather's death.
On the basis of the video Aridhi showed me, my car hit her grandfather's car so I am the culprit.
But if the video existed before then I should have been jailed. That means someone removed all the proof.
And only my well wisher could do something like this to protect me.
No outsider can be my well wisher because who the fuck will choose me over ‘War’ himself?
And since I can't recall anything after that accident, it leads to two possibilities.
Either I got hit so much that I forgot about it by myself or someone deliberately made me forget to let the past be past.
That was the day I was crowned as the Business King so it's obvious that I developed many haters or competitors side by side.
My body froze in its place. The sudden rush of realisation hitting me again and again.
Grandma…she was the only one in the hospital when I opened my eyes.
Maybe she knows something?
Fuck, how could I be so dumb? I had this thought like multiple times but I'm realising everything now?
Due to all the anger reigning in my veins, I punched the vase which was kept on the side table.
The vase broke and the sound of its scattering spread.
I took a sigh when I heard footsteps and saw Aridhi's widened eyes.
“What the hell are you doing Ruvit?” It was then I realised that her attention was on my blooded knuckles.
She rushed towards me and pulled me with her in the bedroom.
She made me sit on the bed and hatched a first aid kit.
Sitting in front of me, she scolded, loud and clear, “I don't know what happened to you just now but it was fucking stupid.”
“I know.” I just can't walk while containing all the anger inside my muscles.
She took my hand to clean the blood.
“Tell me why did you do this?” She demanded.
“You don't speak why as wae anymore.” I pointed out, ignoring the pain in my knuckles.
She passed me a glare, “I asked you a question.”
“My grandma called,” I said making her eyebrows raise, “on your phone.”
Her eyes narrowed, not expecting that.
“What did she say?” She asked while applying ointment on the wound.
“She accepted you and wants us to live happily.”
She asked after a beat, “Really?”
Giving her a nod, I continued, “It was due to the way she was saying it which made me think about my past experience and as an outcome, I became angry.”
“Oh?” She put an elastic bandage around my hand, “I want details.”
I suddenly gulped as my eyes scanned her collarbone, v-neck line and slight image of her breasts revealed by her bathing robe.
“What are you—” She followed my vision line and abruptly covered her front, “You pervert, I thought we were discussing something important.”
“It's important.” I remarked, “Now remove your hands and let me enjoy my view.”
“No, you are becoming shameless day by day.” She complained while shaking her head.
I held her wrist with my left hand and pinned her to the bed. She let out a gasp when my knee came in between her legs.
Keeping my right damaged hand aside, I held both of her wrists above her head with my left hand.
“Just because my hand is injured doesn't mean it can stop me, Ardhangini.” I teased, making her blush.
“Fuck you, Ruvit.” She struggled which is only tempting me more as her bathing robe moved away from her skin.
“Let me fuck you instead.”
