Page 3 of ARIDHI: His Never-Ending Desire
New York, USA.
"I will definitely come, darling. Believe me." I replied as my phone call was on speaker.
"How can I miss this golden opportunity." I tried to console Ridhima, my bestie who was throwing tantrums.
"I have cancelled all my plans and am leaving for India straight at 10:30 A.M." I explained.
I should reach India around 9:00 P.M. if I take this flight.
"Okay fine but I wanted you with me today." Ridhima pouted over the call.
My first ever best friend, Ridhima Singhania, whom I met in KG class.
She got shifted to a different state after our 7th class. Her and I used to enjoy together a lot.
"Is today something special?" I asked despite the inner turmoil within me. I'm sure today isn't anything special.
"No but today in the evening, Manish and his family are coming here to see me." She sighed.
"Oh." So that means marriage has not been decided yet.
"Now, I just want you here before my engagement." I can hear the disappointment in her voice.
I was about to leave for India yesterday itself but a very important meeting came up which made me postpone my flight.
After an hour, I'm going to fetch my flight to India.
"I will be there, I promise. And you know I don't break them." I was determined enough about what I just said.
"Yeah, you only know how to break bones." She laughed at her joke.
"A girl should be an all rounder like me." Joining her laughter, I replied.
"Okay bye. I need to get ready now. I can't wait to see you. Love you!" A smile spread across my face as she bid.
"Yeah, Love you too!" We cut off the call with a promise to see each other soon.
My gaze went upon my personal assistant, Naksh Sharma who was standing in front of my table.
Did I make him wait for long?
"I wanted to talk with you about Zn's shares." He finally spoke after waiting patiently.
"Just sell them." Since I will be leaving New York, I won't be able to keep an eye on Zn's. It's better to sell them off.
He nodded, going through all the files of Zn's shares.
Surprisingly, he is a very obedient assistant unlike others who are always annoyed by their boss.
The best part is that he had never questioned my decisions and always went with the flow.
"Yesterday I found a book on your table." He suddenly mentioned, his eyes still fixated on the file in his hand.
"Book?" I tried to remember.
"Here," He forwarded a book, "I kept it safe." This isn't just a book but my favourite book.
The RA business mania
"Um, I spotted you many times while reading this book. So I thought it must be special for you." He passed one of his rare smiles.
"Yes, thank you so much." I took the book from his hands.
This book is actually special to me as it was a source of my inspiration and motivation.
Sadly, the only thing I know about its author is just her pen name, RA.
This book is about a young lady who was a popular and perfect businesswoman of her time.
But unfortunately this book is incomplete as I gathered based on not knowing what kind of ending.
I averted my eyes on my little temple which is settled in my cabin because they are rare to find in New York.
I stood up from my chair and walked towards it. Sitting down on the ground, I stared at the statue of Kanha ji.
"I never asked you to fulfill my wishes. I always asked you to give me what is right for me and I accepted everything wholeheartedly whatever you served."
I muttered in front of him.
"But today I do have a wish. If the author of this book is still alive, please write in my destiny to chase that woman in the hope that one day I will meet her."
I let my head touch his feet when suddenly a flower landed in my palms.
Should I take it as a symbol of my wish getting fulfilled?
"Thank you, Kanha ji." I joined my hands, taking his blessings.

“How am I looking?” I asked Dhruv who was standing in front of the mirror, perfecting his looks.
He turned around to look at me for a proper view.
“Just looking like mine.” He winked at me in his signature style.
Okay, it was an absolute bad idea to ask him.
I gave him a serious look on which he sighed dramatically.
“Why do you care how you are looking? You are already obsessed with your good looks.” Dhruv made a point.
Yes, why do I even care? It's not like I'm the groom or I need to look good.
But my heart is having an unusual sensation, like something really weird.
“Are you trying to move on from Aridhi?” Dhruv waggled his eyebrows on which he received a pillow on his head by me.
“Moving on from my Ardhangini is not possible.” I know we are not married yet but she is already my everything wholeheartedly from the first day.
Call it love at first sight or whatever but my everything belongs to her.
“I'm waiting for the day when I will be officially calling her my bhabhi.” Dhruv said while wearing his watch.
“Will this day come into my life too from your side?” I asked, instantly regretting wae.
I just asked a question which will make him remember his past but I am still not satisfied with his and Nandini's breakup.
Nandini was his girlfriend since the end of 9th class. They loved each other so much until the storm arrived.
They got separated after five years and God knows for what reason.
Well, he told me the reason but I wonder if it was actually true.
“She was the one who left me even though I loved her more than myself and my family. I still love her and I will love her forever.” Dhruv's eyes got teary.
“Sorry.” I walked towards him for a hug.
“No worries. You are my true love anyway.” He hugged me back dramatically.
“Shut up with your nonsense.” He and his obsession about thinking me as his girl. Stupid.
“Aww..don't be angry, Darling. Aridhi bhabhi will run away seeing you like this.” He broke the hug and started laughing hard.
“Don't be delusional.” I scoffed coldly.
“Delulu is the solulu.” I think I made a big mistake making this man my bestfriend in childhood.
“Tu joote khayega ab saale.” I shouted, ready to hit his head with my shoe.
(I will beat you up with my shoe.)
