Page 35 of ARIDHI: His Never-Ending Desire

As soon as I stepped down the last stair, I saw Nandini and Dhruv.

They were dancing on one of their favorites by themselves as Manish Bhaiya made Ridhima wear the Mangalsutra.

I'm also eager to dance on that one song. But it requires more than me and my curiosity; a man.

I sneered at myself as if I was not fantasizing Ruvit with me on that song a moment ago.

I hid the shoes once again with the help of other girls.

Ruvit descended from the stairs and stood beside me.

Did I say how Handsome he is looking in his Baby Pink Kurta Pyjama?

Well, it kinda matches mine.

I glanced in his direction as his side profile came into view.

Very Few people have attractive side-profiles and yeah, Ruvit is one of them. No matter in which direction I look, he looks Perfect.

His Long eyelashes, his nose just so aristocratic and such a Sharp Jawline are the Perfect view of the day!

Although his gaze was fixed on the couple, I know his mind is occupied by me and that's what I like about him.

Hehe…I love it when all his attention is on me, especially his all-black universal eyes. It's like they are enough for all the Love I crave.

My staring journey took a break as My phone rang. An unknown number?

It was just then Ruvit looked in My direction.

I picked it up and went afar from all the commotion going inside.

"Five years ago. Rain. A Car Accident. Your Grandfather. Dead."

10 words! It only took 10 words in 10 seconds to take all my breath away.

My heels froze to the ground, unable to move even if I have to.

No!! No!! No!!

It can't be.

My Grandfather, Mr. Vignesh Agarwal, a 73 year old man—when he died.

He was Known as the God of Business with the name ‘War’.

No one knew about his personal life, even his name was mysterious, just like me.

That day when he got into an accident—from where he never returned—spread breaking news all over the world.

It was rumoured that he had suicidal thoughts before his death. But I don't trust them.

My Grandfather's death wasn't any note of suicide. Someone killed him on purpose!!

I was 21 at that time and studying at Oxford University. I went back home on vacation just to witness his dead body.

Since there was no evidence or even a mere word regarding his death, we decided to let the media think whatever they wanted.

We decided to not disclose grandfather's identity as Vignesh Agarwal! We let it be recognised as ‘War’.

I personally tried to find the real culprit but I failed.

And now imagine, after 5 damn years, someone is calling me and revealing a top-notch secret that my family has been hiding from the media!!

I took some long breaths before I responded to the call,"Who are you?"

It was the first question as no normal people could access that information I just heard.

"Someone close to you…"

And with those four words, he/she hung up.

The voice was an art of AI. I know because Bhaiya used to teach me the skills.

Whoever it was knows about me very well.

They wanted me to overhype on the piece of information given.

They knew that only a few words were enough for me to sense danger.

It seems like they are provoking me to go and find the actual truth behind grandpa's death.

And since they are aware of the fact that I can't, they will use this against me.

Kind of a Blackmailing thing and all.

I can't be broken or shocked at this point. I have to work on this person.

I looked at my dial pad as the unknown number blinked back at me.

I searched for Raichand's number which I got after a minute. I will tell him to track this number.

I was about to tap on the call button but a shoutout of my name startled me.

I looked back and saw Ruvit walking in my direction.

I immediately turned off my phone and stood facing Ruvit as he stopped right in front of me.

"You don't get unknown numbers on your personal, do you?" was the first question went out from his mouth.

I shook my head as I lied,"It was one of my friends."

I trust Ruvit but I can't tell him right away. Besides, he also has so many responsibilities.

But I'm not going to behave like those typical heroines either who hide things in the first place and end up with misunderstandings.

I will tell him at the right time. I'm not taking advantage, just trusting him.

He tilted his head with his raised eyebrows at me.

"It's better if that friend of yours is a girl" He said.

"What if it's a guy and falls in Love with me?" I asked out of pure curiosity.

"He won't."

"Wae??"

"Because he will be dead!" He confessed with a straight poker face without any hesitation or filter.

I bite my lips to suppress the adrenaline rush to go above my throat.

"At least look around before speaking something like that!!" I tried to scold.

He looked around before speaking, "Something like that!!"

This guy.. I facepalmed internally.

"Let's go inside" I set my dupatta and started to walk inside the hall but got stopped due to some force.

"Ruvit, Leave me!" I asked without looking back.

"Delusional for you to think that I'm going to leave you. Even my watch wants you to stay, Meri Jaan."

I turned back as he showed me his wrist watch being stuck in my dupatta.

I tried to pull back the dupatta when a strong hand gripped on my waist.

My palm got fixed to his chest as I looked up at him to crash my ocean blue eyes with his black orbs.

"If you are going to use this much force on a thing like your dupatta, you will end up tearing it" He whispered as we are already very close.

Our breaths intermix with each other by each passing minute.

Ruvit's right arm wrapped around my bare waist as if it belongs there only. It is a matter of fact that how perfectly his hand rests on my waist.

He lifted his left arm in which he was wearing his brand new watch. With a less force this time, I used my hand to pluck out my dupatta from it.

"That's My Good Girl" He whispered over the shell of my ear with a tainted smirk on his face.

Wtf does he mean by His Good Girl!?

?

We stepped inside the hall only to greet ourselves with the soft echo of the priest's voice.

"Aajse aap dono pati-patni hain."

(From today, you both are Husband-Wife.)

Already!? I slowly chuckled as I can't believe my bestfriend is already married to the Love of her life.

I'm happy for her. And to be more accurate, I'm happy for us. We are going to become daughter-in-laws of the same family—she has now.

Manish Bhaiya and Ridhima stood up from the Mandap when a voice interrupted them.

"Bro!! You can't walk without your shoes, you know" Rishika confronted while pointing at his feet.

Manish Bhaiya glared at Ruvit and Dhruv. They just shrugged, not giving a damn.

"I knew it anyway. It was already settled!" He took a cheque out of his pocket and signed it.

He signalled me as I walked towards them. He kept the cheque of 10 lakhs rupees in my hand.

It was then I asked Nandini to bring the shoes and she followed.

After sometime she came back with a box in her hand. She took out the shoes from the box and kept them in front of Manish Bhaiya.

He wore the shoes before taking the blessings from all the elders one by one.

After passing them, Manish Bhaiya and Ridhima stopped infront of me and Ruvit as we were standing beside each other.

"Congratulations Ridhima" I hugged her from arm side,"Bhabhi."

She smiled at her new official tag.

Ruvit hugged Manish Bhaiya before giving his best wishes to the Newly married couple.

"I hope you two also get married soon!!" Manish Bhaiya said.

"Yeah!! Ruvit, get ready with your Proposal" Ridhima joked.

I blushed at her words. Ruvit just nodded at her.

"You are not going to propose me, Are you?" I asked while whispering to Ruvit.

"No!!" He didn't even hesitate.

Seriously!? I know it's an arranged marriage and we never talked about our feelings towards each other but still at least he can get on one knee and ask ‘Will You Marry Me?’

"It's not what you think" I heard Ruvit taking a sigh. What!! Is it that obvious to read my face??

"Words can lie but eyes can't. I told you about my feelings so many times through my eyes, my actions and whatnot. And here you are still standing totally clueless. If you think mere words of speech—as you name it 'Proposal'—can make you feel more overwhelmed, I'm ready to do that, for you. Just wait."

I nodded at him. I don't know what to say.

It's true that his actions were always different towards me in comparison with how he used to be with other girls.

It's true how his eyes always finds mine in the crowd of millions.

It's true how his eyes shines a shade brighter around me even though they are black.

It's true he was naturally rude to every female even before me.

I was the first girl to enlighten the fire in his body and a spark in his heart.

In Childhood, He never confessed his feelings through words but his actions.

I was too blind to recognise it as Love. I thought it was just because we are Best Friend.

Though I had a crush on him but I didn't want our friendship to end so I never confessed.

Maybe I was too selfish and greedy to have both Love and Friendship. Friendship way too much that I never imagined his Love.

But as the time flies, He became more and more obvious about his feelings.

I still wasn't ready to label it as Love. Because I never expected to be loved.

Told ya, I was not interested in boy drama. I was a career oriented woman from the very childhood.

No guy interested me until Ruvit. I just realised it way too late.

If I had sooner looked at him the way he wanted me to, we might have ended up like Dhruv and Nandini.

And even now, it was neither me nor him who took a step towards us but our families.

Guess what would have happened if Matashree never talked with Ritu Aunty about out marriage?

One final question is Does Ruvit really really reallllllyyyyy Loves me? And do I really Love him back enough?

Obviously, you idiot.

Thanks for the information brain but I was asking my heart.

I know it's such a Clusterfuck but can't do anything.

I just can't pull out the thread when it is stuck with like millions of other threads.

Instead of breaking them, I have to sit patiently and try to go through all the knots and freed my thread.

I get out of my trance when I heard sobs and whimpers coming out of Ridhima's mouth.

She was all over her parents, hugging them and crying her heart out.

It's Vidai time. The most emotional moment of any girl's life.

A moment when she has to leave the house she was born into to live in the house of whom she was born for.

"Hey Ruvit!! Can you become Ghar Jamai?" I asked him while keeping my head on his shoulder.

(Ghar Jamai = When a guy leaves his house to live with his wife in her house.)

"Sure if that what Princess wants." Ruvit replied while giving a smooch on my forehead.

"You would really??" I asked looking straight at him.

He smiled,"There is no big deal. If a woman can sacrifice her own goddamn house, wae can't a man sacrifice his?? A sacrifice like this is nothing when it comes to you."
