Page 44 of ARIDHI: His Never-Ending Desire

The bike roared along the road covered with big trees on either sides of the pavement.

The shadows cast under the moonlight were giving a forestry look around us.

It was already 1:00 am at night.

That didn't bother me as I will drop Aridhi before 2:00 am at Singhania's mansion.

Since we planned to have a date tonight, I thought I should show her what I have been working on for years.

Aridhi clutched on my waist like a little baby.

The deeper we went into the woods, the deeper her expression fills with excitement and curiosity.

I know how much she loves her peace and for that she can even go on mountains.

Saving that for the honeymoon though, but chances are still less.

When she was young, she used to whine about her personal space.

She used to tell us — me and Dhruv — how she was always the centre of attention in her family.

She didn't like that much.

She was her family's princess and I will make sure to make her my queen, now.

No doubt, Aridhi got everything she ever wanted. Her family never let her cry for a thing.

But all she craved for peace, calm and a place where she can be just herself and do whatever she desires.

So here it is!

I stopped the bike in front of a freshwater lake, showing us the reflection of moon in it.

A medium sized cozy wooden house stood straight as we got off the bike.

Aridhi stared at the house on which there was a signboard and it read as:

Dedicated to Ruvit's Ardhangini.

She snapped her head at me, amusement covering her face.

"Is it for me?" She asked.

The rustling sound of leaves hit my ears before I drowned in her ocean blue eyes.

"Who else? This land is yours. This lake is yours. That little swing is yours. And yes, that fucking house is also yours."

I replied while pointing at the respective things.

"Even this man is yours." I added, pointing at myself.

She giggled and mouthed ‘cute’ in my direction.

"You can come here anytime you wish." I showed her the keys of the house.

"How did you find it?" She took the keys as we walked towards the entrance.

"I just find the perfect spot and build this house." I replied.

"Really?" She sounded astounded and I nodded at her in assurance.

She unlocked the door and a warm woody smell made its way to our lungs.

I visit here frequently to keep it clean and green.

And that's wae, the air inside the house isn't suffocating but refreshing.

"When is your whipping expiry date?"

My eyebrows scrunched at her question.

I'm never ever going to stop making efforts for this woman.

And if it makes her smile, I will happily do or sacrifice anything.

"It's never ending." I answered without hesitation.

"Uh-huh." She looked around the house to take in its view.

I accompanied her on the walk through the house.

*Bedroom*

*Kitchen*

*Bathroom*

"It's so beautiful." She exclaimed, taking every inch of its beauty.

"Come with me." Her wrist came in my hand as I made our way towards the sofa.

I told her to wait there for me before I grabbed my guitar from the bedroom.

It's been a long time since I played it. But Aridhi will surely love to see me playing it.

I sat right infront of Aridhi and strapped the guitar in place.

"So finally I'm going to see you play guitar." She smiled.

"Yeah. So sing a song and I will play that for you." I suggested.

She thought for a while before taking a long breath.

She kept both of her hands in her lap as she started humming the tune.

My brain took a minute to process it as my fingers worked on the strings.

"Yeh nazar bhi ajeeb thi, isne dekhe the manzar sabhi." Melody of her voice echoed in the whole house.

(This sight was strange too, it had seen all the scenes.)

Ohh fuck, How my heart melts at the thought of craving the sweetness of her voice.

"Dekh k tujhe ek dafa, fir kisiko na dekha kabhi." She continued as I played the guitar with my skillful fingers.

(I saw you once and never saw anyone else again.)

"Mera pehla junoon, tu mera pehla junoon." She stared into my eyes with a smile on her face.

(My first passion, you are my first passion.)

She is singing like she is dedicating each and every word of the lyrics to me.

"Ishq akhiri hain tu, Meri zindagi hain tu." She leaned forward to kiss me on my cheek.

(You are my last love, you are my life.)

"Meri zindagi hain tu." She mumbled as she moved towards my jaw.

(You are my life.)

"You look hot while moving your fingers on your guitar but do you know where else they should move?"

I shook my head purposely as Aridhi shifted nearer to me, taking the guitar from my hand and keeping it aside.

She held my hand and put it on her hip bone.

She stood on her knees, parting them between my thighs.

Wrapping her arms around my neck, she sensually kissed me on my forehead, coming down to smooch my cheeks.

She is really getting affected by my company. And I like it.

"Aridhi–" I warned before she starts doing something out of her head.

She kept her finger on my lips as she shushed me.

Her hand moved on my chest, opening the top buttons as she pressed a kiss on my neck.

I groaned as she fumbled her teeth on my neck, leaving marks for sure.

"Your fingers should be on me, though inside me is more preferable."

She whispered in her natural voice but it sounded fuck, enough to make me weak in my knees.

I thought I was obsessed with a childish and innocent girl but I was so damn wrong.

How could I forget that — Miss Aridhi Agarwal, soon to be My Mrs. Aridhi Ruvit Rathore — is a devil dressed like an angel.

I would be wrong if I don't agree with the fact that I'm getting so much turned on with just her presence around me.

My eyes met her and I could see her eyes glimmering with that playful lust and intensity.

"Do you have a ribbon?" She asked suddenly.

I nodded, "Are you going to please me by tying your hands with it?"

"Just give me na." She shook her head as she chuckled.

I thought for a second as I remembered where I kept a ribbon.

As I fumbled with the drawers of the side stool just beside the sofa, Aridhi stared at me, wrapping her legs around my torso.

My fingers got entangled with a pink ribbon and I gave it to Aridhi.

"Now open your shirt." She reached her hand to take it.

"Hm?" I raised an eyebrow at her, "So you are going to order me around now?"

My voice was playful, not serious.

"OPEN. YOUR. SHIRT." She commanded again, I follow it now.

The shirt laid down on the sofa as Aridhi approached me beside my bicep and tied the ribbon there.

What am I supposed to do with it? It will literally shatter even if I slightly move my arm.

She giggled as she came in front of me.

"Now flex your muscles." Her voice reached me, making me stiff at my place.

"Aridhi, ribbon will—" I was cut off by her feisty expression.

I flexed it nevertheless, lifting up. The veins popped as the muscles around my arm thickened.

The ribbon broke away and fell on the ground.

I tried to protect it though.

I turned to look at Aridhi staring at my muscles with awe.

"That was actually hot. I thought it was merely just for a show." Her eyes sparkled with adoration.

"What?" My expression turned confuse.

"Nevermind the ribbon." She came out of her delusional zone, "I was just trying something on you."

"I'm not an experimental tool for you to test your trendy reels, you know." She grinned at me when I figured out her plan.

Before I could make up Aridhi's further plans, her phone started buzzing.

I frowned. Who the hell wants to get killed by me?

Wait, first question should be who the fuck is calling her at this late of the night?

She quickly composed herself as she picked up her phone.

The cold air hit me when her presence was gone.

The sudden change in her expression got my attention before her back came into my view.

She stood near the window, her phone sticked to her ear.

I took a long breath as I got lost in my thoughts.

It's not like I don't respect her privacy but does she not trust me enough to put her call on the speaker?

I'm doubting her either. I trust her more than myself.

Even if she hides anything for me, I will wait until she herself explain that to me. Fuck my patience.

But it hurts to see her behave like this, atleast around me.

Now the phone was in her hands and her eyes were glued on it.

Her face went pale as she turned around and fixed her gaze on me.

As I say, her eyes are beautiful but right now, they are piercing through me.

They seem like the silent ocean suddenly became violent because of the storm around it.

And I definitely can't see her like this. Her hateful and cold expression is the last thing I want on her face.

I will destroy the reason behind this expression of hers — including me.

She strides towards me as I stood up to face her.

"Don't think I'm accusing you. I just want to ask a few questions."

The voice which was fluttering my heart a few minutes ago was all hard now as if she was forcing herself to speak.

"Sure." I asserted.

I don't know what got into her. But it seems like she isn't in her right mind currently.

So, I have to remain calm and be careful with my words.

"You said you got this scar in an accident." Her voice trembled while pointing on my bare chest.

Wae she is suddenly asking about this?

"Yes." The reply was sincere.

"How?" She asked.

My brain went blank and my throat suddenly dried.

The air around me shifted heavier as I thought about that tragic moment of my life.

"Sorry to make you remember it but I just want to know." She gritted her teeth after explaining herself.

It's okay. It's just a question. She just wants to know every bit of me.

"Aridhi–" I called out, "Guilty as charged but I myself don't remember anything about it."

"How will you explain yourself if I say that you killed someone into that accident?" Her voice felt heartbroken.

I froze at my place, my whole body cold. Adrenaline rushed through my blood as I processed Aridhi's words.

My throat moved and made an audible gulp sound.

If this really is the case, wae wasn't I charged with anything? Or I should have been in a jail right now.

Wae don't I fucking remember?

My memory wasn't a bad one. So what made me lose my memories with that incident?

"What made you say that?" I asked nonetheless.

"Ruvit."

For the first time, my name on her tongue felt empty and blank and without any emotions.

"I trust you. I believe in you. I love you and forever will. But what I saw literally shook me to the core."

Her words pierced straight through my heart.

I never imagined, even in my worst nightmares, to witness Aridhi in this state.

And the fact that I'm the reason behind it is just painful.

"W-what? … What did you see?" My voice stammered.

She passed her phone to me with a video playing on loop.

My eyes almost widened at the sight of black and white video, casting a tragic accident in my view.

Two cars crashing into each other at full speed, their windows shattering down on the road.

The heavy drops of rain falling onto the cars and the people standing around it.

The number on the car was worth the attention as compared to other things.

My mind went to the memories of that day.

A flash of my younger self played in my peripheral vision as I bought my brand new Bugatti Chiron with my first income.

I was so happy to finally get myself my dream car but everything got ruined in just mere seconds.

The worst thing is those mere seconds are completely out of my brain.

I remember this particular glimpse but nothing before it or after it.

With no doubt, one of the cars into this accident was mine.

And just with the unique number, anyone could guess the owner of the car.

If not that, I even hung a keychain inside my first car.

The keychain was a gift by Aridhi to me after 12th class. So definitely it was a precious memory to preserve.

Afterwards, I don't remember anything and at the exact moment, the video ended too.

The video is original, it doesn't even feel fake.

I drifted my eyes to look at Aridhi, standing in a vulnerable situation.

"How did you get this video? I heard all the proofs and recordings were removed regarding this accident." I blurt out everything that was going through me.

"Leave that aside for now because I'm also not sure but do you have any idea to whom the other car belongs?" She asked, her voice calm this time.

I shook my head slightly.

Tears filled into her eyes, as her lips and voice fumbled.

"The other car belongs to my grandfather."

This. This is the moment I shatter.

"My grandfather had a similar scar as you…when I saw his d-dead b-body!"

Her tears slipped free and her cheeks turned red.

"I lost my grandpa in this accident, an accident which gave me a trauma for something I used to adore the most, rain."

She broke out crying. I don't know how she is barely managing to walk on her feet.

This wasn't supposed to happen.

This isn't the fate I once wished for.

I didn't want my and Aridhi's destinies to be connected with each other like this.

"I'm s-sorry." My eyes burned at the condition of Aridhi.

Fuck me. Sorry is the most useless thing in this world and people's dictionaries.

It doesn't give closure or reassurance. It reopens the old wounds and gives painful memories only.

I fucking killed him or rather I'm the reason of his death or fucking both.

"Aridhi, give me a chance—" I wanna tell her how much I want to hold her right now and what I'm feeling.

"I don't think there is anything more left between us." She cut me off.

My heart shrink even at the thought of her words.

And No way in hell, I'm letting her go. There are still so many things left between us.

"Don't say that, p-please."

Hah. I never imagined myself pleading in front of anyone.

But here, standing this girl, doing absolutely nothing, and bringing me on my knees.

"I am not accusing you to intentionally kill my grandpa, Ruvit. It was really just an accident, I understand."

"Ardhangini—"

"I just don't think I will be able to live with you anymore. I understand your situation so understand mine too."

"Aridhi—"

"I will be more heartbroken than you for my entire life. Forgive me."

She took her phone and walked to leave the house.

The sound of the lightning rumbled through the windows.

Goddamn it!!!

I immediately stood straight and slammed my hand on the door before she could open it.

No way in hell, I'm letting her go in this fucking rain, that too alone at night without any vehicle and guidance.

She turned around, her eyes and cheeks swollen.

Fine, I can't do anything about her grandfather. I can't diagree with the accident either. But I will make sure that she will get rid of her trauma.

She will learn to adore the rain again. And I will cross every limit for that.

"We are not done yet, Ardhangini. You need time, I will give you. I will try my best to make you forgive me, I will fall into your feet and gladly bow down my head for you, only for you. I will devote the rest of my life, making you feel safe and the most loved woman on the earth. I will grovel like a mad man until you are ready to move on from the accident and accept me again. But leave you? Sorry Baby, that will cost my life. And even after my death, my soul isn't going to find salvation, it will wander for your acceptance only."

Each word coming out of my mouth is the swear to my life.

Dear God, if I fail in any of the tasks, I will happily accept the death invitation.

"I just want to ask for the last thing before you leave, can I?"

She lightly nodded.

"Will you let me make you adore the rain again?" I finally asked.

My grip on the door loosened and she took it as an opportunity to open the door and walked outside in the rain.

I followed her and wait for her consent.

Monsoon's fragrance of first showers bloomed around the environment.

I stood at the doorframe, arms crossed while leaning sideways, watching her getting all drenched in the rain.

She trembled yet nodded.

I don't even need to ask for what she nodded. I understood what she wants and what I need to do for granting her wish.
