Page 51 of ARIDHI: His Never-Ending Desire

I can't believe it. Literally and figuratively.

Ruvit just walked out from the auditorium, ditching every important work in between and it's already too much of a hassle.

"This King already got his queen and she needs him right now. So, excuse me."

His words repeated on my mobile screen.

God! This man is on top of the trending topics just for saying this? But again, his voice is majestic.

And does he know that it ruined our plan? Okay, that's the last thing on my mind for now.

I took a sigh, not exactly disappointed and feeling all giddy.

His powerful walk, cold demure and absolutely no matched aura are everything I'm seeing in my phone or around me.

I looked at him, his eyes were already fixated on me. As expected, I felt hot under his gaze.

He was holding my one hand in his own, caressing the knuckles.

He called his chauffeur to drop us at the event so yeah we are sitting in the backseat of the car.

I leaned back on the seat, his lips brushing my hairs.

"Ruv." I called out, breaking the habitual silence.

"Hmm?" He planted a kiss on my knuckles.

"What did you do with the goons?" I tilted my head only to see him smirking.

Fucking butterflies!!

"Gonna torture them for ruining your dress." He replied while tucking the hair strands behind my ear.

I looked down at my dress, it's actually dirty and a bit ruined.

"How could they do so? Only I have that right." My cheeks turned crimson when he bit my ear.

?

"Wae are we here?" I asked Ruvit dumbfounded while standing inside a massive showroom.

"Obviously to get a dress for you." He replied to me and then started conversing with the salesman.

I scrunched my nose.

I'm aware that my dress is ruined but we are already late for the event.

Now coming here to select a proper dress would take a lot of time.

I specifically designed my saree for the business event and too bad I wouldn't be able to wear it.

"Don't worry, the event won't start without the Queen." Ruvit wrapped his arm around my waist as the salesman led us the way.

Queen? I hope he is not referring to the queen of business. I have no plans to reveal it any sooner.

"Also, the scene I created is enough to disrupt their arrangements." That brought a smile on my face.

"Mr. Rathore, this is the dress you asked for." One of the ladies, probably in her 40s, informed.

My eyes followed the direction of her hand and I gasped.

No way this dress is straight outta fairytale.

I looked at Ruvit with parted lips, not able to say anything.

"Remember yesterday's morning when you didn't take me with you for shopping?" He asked, earning a nod from me.

"I came here to check on this dress whose design was given by me to them, after our engagement."

"Wae?" I didn't know he was familiar with these types of designs.

"To surprise you on your birthday. But you need it right now." He chuckled slowly.

I smiled at the way his eyes shone whenever he chuckled or laughed.

"Did I ever say that you are the most perfect husband material?" I asked while hugging him tightly.

He kissed my forehead, "This is just the beginning. When we get married, I will become the reason for your personal heaven."

?

I stepped out of the changing room, wearing the most beautiful dress ever made.

But it's feeling a bit loose. Did Ruvit make a mistake in my sizes?

I stood in front of the big mirror beside the changing room.

Ruvit came in my view, sitting in a stiff position and staring at me.

I averted my gaze to my dress which was loose on my waist.

The sound of Ruvit's shoes reached my ears and soon enough, he was standing right behind me.

Feeling his hot breath on my nape, I glanced at him from the mirror.

Suddenly, he pulled me backwards by holding my waist from both the sides. My back hit his front, no gap in between.

It was then I realised that I forgot to tie the ribbons hanging on the waist portion. And Ruvit actually pulled them along my waist.

I inhaled too gradually, my lungs filling up with his body scent.

Ruvit tied the ribbons making the dress stick to my curves perfectly.

"You have no idea what you are doing to me." He whispered in my ear.

Goosebumps erupted on my skin due to his breathy voice and intimacy.

He started kissing my shoulders over the dress, my head tilting back in admiration.

"Control yourself." I held his hand which was on my waist.

"You are looking too majestic for me to control myself." Holding my waist tightly, he feasted on my neck.

A moan was about to escape my mouth but I bit my lips.

"Ruv." My nails dug in his hand, "You would leave a mark."

He paused and looked at me through the mirror, his eyes darkened.

"Fine but Ardhangini, after the event you are all mine to mark and devour." He stuck his tongue on his cheek from inside the mouth, looked at me cheekily.

?

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?

The scene picturing in front of my eyes felt so surreal. So wrong.

Yes, everyone went crazy when me and Ruvit stepped out from the car and walked powerfully inside the auditorium.

??? “Power couple.”

??? “So, she is the queen he was talking about.”

??? “No doubt they are engaged.”

??? “They both are looking the finest creatures of the God.”

??? “There is whole human community and then there are these two.”

??? “Aww, Perfect.”

The media started muttering and gossiping while the reporters clicked our photos while passing on their own compliments.

But the heartbreaking scene was when I saw Manya Varishth standing on the stage with a golden certificate in her hand.

As far as I know, this golden certificate was the honour specifically reserved for the Business King & Queen.

I gripped tightly on Ruvit's arm.

Ruvit must have already received this honour but Manya receiving this honour is laughable.

My body shivered due to the shock. The ugly smirk Manya just gave me was the enough indication that something was wrong.

She actually tried to snatch my position? First, she took Ridhima's place and now mine?

As if sensing my body dilemma, Ruvit wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me closer to his side.

Relax Aridhi.

We are in public and currently the centre of attention. I can't mess up. I need a proper plan to teach her a lesson.

I put on a fake smile to stay in the character.

The organiser of the event, the former director of business administration, by himself led us to the special seats in front of the stage.

"Thank you Ms. Agarwal for being one of the chief guests of today's event." He commented which I reciprocated with a smile.

"Also, glad to know that you were the queen Mr. Rathore mentioned earlier." He added and glanced at Ruvit.

Ruvit's eyes were fixed on me, I could sense and feel it.

"Ohh." The only reaction I gave to the director before settling on our seats.

Turning my head to my right side, I couldn't help but observe the way Ruvit looks at me.

It's as if he is a devotee and I'm his Goddess.

The intensity, the admiration, the devotion, the love. Everything he holds for me speaks only about obsession.

A small smile lifted up my lips, his eyes softening as a reaction and apparently, he smiled back.

A small gesture but how beautiful it is when he finds happiness in my happiness.

"Uh, we are extremely sorry for all the inconveniences back there. But now let's give a restart to our event." The voice of the hostess tangled around us.

"On my right side, here is Ms. Varishth who is being entitled as the business queen for her amazing work and skills."

That sent chills throughout my body. And wae not? Never in my worst nightmare I could expect this.

Now that I'm thinking about this matter, I wonder what made everyone believe that she is really the business queen?

Like the most successful man or woman in the business field achieves such titles. And for acknowledging these titles, this World's Business Event is organised.

And since the last time of its organisation, Ruvit is acknowledged as the Business King as he rules the business world.

Even my grandfather was once the holder of this title so I'm well aware of this system.

Last time of the organisation, not only Ruvit but I was also acknowledged as the Business Queen. But I didn't attend the event because of my grandpa's death.

So, no one actually saw the Business Queen back then. They just assumed that there is a lady, existing, who is successful enough to hold the title.

And not to forget that these titles are prioritised over the business's name instead of the owner's name.

Therefore, no one actually knows the real name or background of the Business Queen aka me.

Basically, five years ago, a lot of things happened. One of many things is my own identity remains mysterious.

“Aridhi Agarwal” became a normal businesswoman for everyone despite the mysterious process of being the Business Queen.

Huff, that was a lot of understanding. It feels like I'm just getting entangled in the past.

But yeah, there is a connection. And as long as it's present, I can link every past moment with each other.

The feel of Ruvit's hand on mine stirred up my thoughts.

I looked at our intertwined hands, then at Ruvit who was sitting nonchalantly for the others. But the concern for me was clearly reflected in his eyes.

"I was just thinking about something." I spoke out before he could ask anything.

"I know there are a lot of confusing things in our lives. But don't worry, we will go through them all.. together!"

The reassurance in his voice earned a nod from me and ignited determination in me.

Ruvit is right.

There are a lot of things related to our past. And we will work on them before they ruin our future.

But for now, all I have to do is teach this Manya her place.

"Finally, we got to see our Business Queen after almost five years. Let's ask her a few questions before heading to our Business King."

The hostess passed a smile to Manya as they settled down on the sofas placed on the stage.

It could go almost unnoticed but I saw it.

Manya just felt anxious as if this was the moment she was fearing. Understandable.

She can, by any means, show herself as the Business Queen but how will she manage to answer the questions as the Business Queen?

"So what made you enter the business field?" The hostess asked her.

"Uhm, it was just a fascination at first. Then I persuaded it as a degree and learned the real algorithm of business before actually starting it."

Her answer seems as fake as her laugh.

"To be honest, it was nothing new. I personally wished to hear something extraordinary from you."

The hostess's disappointment caught everyone's attention as this type of answer is what any successful person would give.

But something different from the usual is what makes those successful person legends.

"It's probably because of my nervousness." Manya laughed awkwardly.

Nervousness my foot. I can't endure all this anymore.

The hostess asked her some more questions, all related to business. She could frame the answers well but not strong enough.

Even the hostess seemed unsatisfied with her but she masked her expressions.

They stood up from their seats, probably to call Ruvit on the stage.

Just as the hostess was about to open her mouth, all the lights present in the auditorium turned off, causing commotion.

I felt Ruvit's figure shifting beside me. And soon enough, his hot breath came on my neck.

"It's time to show them wae you are the queen." He whispered, sending shivers down my spine.

"Queen of both, my heart and the business world." My eyes widened in shock as he completed his sentence.

What? How did he know? And when did he figure it out? Why the fuck this is happening all at once?

I glanced at him hurriedly but all I sensed was his disappearing figure.

What is this man planning to do exactly?

~·~

I repeat again, don't be confused.

Ask me in the comments if there is something you didn't understand.

I kept this chapter of medium length to avoid any confusion.

Also, it's going to be almost a year

since I started this story. ??

I can't believe that this story has

already got so many views and love!!

Thankyou everyone!! ????
