“You are mymate,” he said. “In everything but act. I would give my life for you. There is no one on this planet more important to me than you.” He took her hand and kissed the inside of her palm. “Your strength does not scare me.” Tiegan walked her into the wall, his hips pressing into hers. “In fact, it makes me want to take you now.”
Heat spiraled in her belly and she smiled. “I’d like that.”
His eyes dipped to her lips.
Slowly, he leaned his head down.
She pressed him back. “But I need to know you’re not going to pass out on top of me because you haven’t fully healed.”
Tiegan growled.
She laughed, her chuckles turning into squeals when Tiegan slid his hand between her legs and pushed them apart, muttering, “I am healed enough forthis.”
His hot breath on her legs made her head hit the wall. She wilted, sliding her hand into his hair to steady herself.
“Guys!” Adhi barreled into the room just as Tiegan was working her pants down. She whirled around, covering her eyes. “I didn’t see anything!”
Embarrassed, Symphony scrambled to pull her pants back up. “Adhi, what’s wrong?”
“I can come back later.”
Tiegan frowned hard. “You have already spoiled the mood.”
“I’m sorry. There was no door and,” she cleared her throat, “I’m sorry.”
“What is it?”
“Honestly… I forgot.” Adhi waved a hand. “I’ll knock next time. Sorry.”
“Adhi,” Symphony called, but it was too late. The beautiful woman had already scampered away.
Symphony chuckled nervously. “What was that about?”
“I am not sure,” Tiegan said, staring at where Adhi had been standing.
“What are you thinking?” she asked. Symphony had assumed that Tiegan would want to get right back to business, so she was surprised when he didn’t continue where they’d left off.
“Did you notice your arm reacting when Adhi entered the room?”
She tilted her head to the side.
He scrubbed his chin. “It also responded to her at the lab.”
“Are you talking about the spark that destroyed Rune’s machine?”
He nodded. “Rune and I could not figure out why your stats were so steady after enduring that kind of electrical charge. You should have experienced some damage.” His purple eyes narrowed and he mumbled, seemingly to himself. “Where did that spark come from?”
“Don’t you think you’re looking a little too deeply at details that aren’t connected?”
“Neh.” He held her hand and led her to the bed. Sitting her down beside him, Tiegan reasoned, “There were four landing points. Three in the formation of a triangle and one in the middle. Which point was in the middle?”
“Adhi’s.”
“Both you and the other female have limbs missing. We are still waiting to hear from Clavas, but we are all certain the fourth female will have something missing as well. The only human who does not have a limb missing is…”
“Adhi.” The name escaped on a whisper. “But I thought it was just a coincidence?”
“What if it is not?” Tiegan stared into her eyes. “You were near unconscious the day we rescued Adhi and the other female. However, after being near her, you regained your strength. After you held Adhi’s hand in the lab, you were able to shove a Plutonian hard enough to injure him. What if Adhi…” His eyes flickered with uncertainty as if he did not even trust the words escaping his mouth. “What if Adhi is…”
