He arched an eyebrow, silently daring the human to intervene.
She licked her lips. “I’ll tell Rune your message.”
He dipped his head in gratitude.
Sim-pony’s jaw dropped. “Really? You’re just going to leave me?”
Adhi waved and hurried away.
Sim-pony leveled him a dirty eye. “Who gave you the right to haul me around like a sack of potatoes?”
“Exactly.” He bumped her up so he could adjust his grip on her soft body. “We need to discuss that matter immediately.”
“What matter?” She frowned.
“The matter of who I am to you.”
She clamped her mouth shut.
Tiegan took advantage of her silence, marched her into a cavern and set her down in the middle of the room.
“Explain yourself.”
Sim-pony stepped to the left. “You’re being ridiculous.”
He blocked her path. “You have been ignoring me.”
“I’m talking to you now, aren’t I?” She moved to the other side.
He matched her step. “Then, around the table, you groped my heat.”
“Your heat? When did I touch your…” Her eyes dropped to his pants and she quickly looked away. “That was my arm. Not me.”
“Your arm is controlled by you.”
“It’s going crazy. I need to get it checked.”
“Rune will ask you the same thing.” He stepped toward her. “Why would your arm try to stroke my heat? Is this your way of asking to mate me?”
Her mouth fell open and then slammed shut. She gave him an icy stare.
Undeterred, Tiegan cupped her cheek. “Sim-pony,” the weight of his desire escaped in his voice, “do you want to be my mate?”

Symphony
Symphony had only everdreamedof getting asked out on a date by a cute guy. When she told the Healer about Derrik, her first love, she’d skimped on a lot of the details to make herself look less pathetic.
The truth was… she’d beenobsessedwith Derrik. After he saved her, the clouds seemed to part and a light glistened over his head, turning him into an angel.
She dreamt of him at night. In every dream, Derrik was dressed like Prince Charming and was riding a white horse. He would take her hand, swing her up behind him and call her beautiful.
In an effort to get Derrik’s attention, Symphony found disability-friendly makeup tutorials and gave makeup her best shot. Not only did she try to change her look, but she learned to bake so she could bring Derrik pastries. Her heart was bursting with infatuation and she’d hovered around Derrik, hoping only to hear those five beautiful words ‘will you be my girlfriend?’
Of course, that day never came.
Ever.
