Page 85 of Made For The Alien Warrior
He hissed when he bent down.
“Careful, careful,” she soothed him. Holding on until he’d lowered himself fully, she pulled the blanket over his body. “It’s okay to feel what you feel without pretending that you’re not affected.”
“He was never a part of my life.”
“But he’s still your father. This is a really big deal.”
He pursed his lips.
“You should rest,” she said, rubbing his hair. Now that she had seem him settled in bed, Symphony really wanted to run outside and make sure Daz hadn’t left with the prisoner.
She had a ton of questions to ask. Starting with what he meant by ‘making the humans pay’. Far as she knew, Sara, Kia, Emma, Leel, Simone and Ga Eun—Rune’s mate—were the only humans who’d chosen to be with Plutonians.
Given the hatred in the warrior’s voice for ‘all’ humans, she wondered if he had it out for any human that existed on this planet, not just the ones who’d gotten with Plutonians.
Tiegan looked up at her with tired eyes and patted the front of the bed. “Stay with me.”
She cringed internally because staying meant she would miss out on the interrogation. Are you going to abandon Tiegan the way his father did?
She swallowed her desire to leave. Smiling lightly, Symphony climbed into bed and snuggled with Tiegan, careful not to squeeze him too tight in case she reopened his wounds.
His jaw nuzzled the top of her hair. “You smell likexelan,” Tiegan murmured.
“And you,” she scrunched her nose, “smell like you took a swim in a vat of hot mineral water.”
He chuckled and then grunted in pain.
She glanced up, horrified. “Stop laughing.”
“My apologies.”
“You were so brave today,” she murmured, sliding her fingers over his arms. Tiegan was still wet from the sacred lake and it was soaking through her clothes, but she didn’t mind. “When I saw you holding up the dome with your bare shoulders, I wanted to kiss you senseless.”
“Is that all it takes to get your hands on me?” he murmured. She kissed his cheek, smiling when Tiegan rumbled in contentment and said, “You are teasing me knowing I cannot do much about it.”
“Not right now, but later…”
He slid his palm over the indent of her spine, making her shiver in return. “Tempting.”
“Very.” She kissed her way up to his ear. “I like cuddling with you.”
“This is not cuddling.” He growled when she pressed her lips to his temple. “Are you trying to see how much of this I can take before I bed you?”
“I’m expressing my gratitude that you are still alive.” She settled back into his arms and stared into his hazy purple eyes. Symphony wasn’t sure if it was exhaustion or desire glistening in them. “I’m glad we’ve both emerged on the other side.”
“It is thanks to your bravery.”
“Not really.” She scrunched her nose. “It’s thanks to Daz. He saved us or we’d be stung to death and picked apart by those lizard creatures.”
She felt Tiegan stiffen beside her. “You are mentioning him intentionally.”
“You,” she rolled up so she could look down at him, “are not supposed to know me that well yet.”
He caressed her side. “Can we get back to suckling each other?”
“You can’t run from your dad forever.”
“He is not my father.”
