“Eema expects the same.” Lans shot a frown at Tiegan. “I did not even know we could access human music.”
“The frequency is hard to find. I had to contact Rune. He and Ga Eun were a big help.”
“You have raised the standard,” Pin mumbled. “I hope you are pleased.”
“Very pleased.” Tiegan leaned back and thought of how soft Sim-pony was. He especially liked the little sounds she made when begging him for more. “Pleased indeed.”
“Did we all look like that after the first mating?” Zar spat to the side. “Disgusting.”
Tiegan chuckled.
Suddenly, the door banged open. Adhi wilted against the doorway, her bald head hanging low and her arms limp.
Sim-pony exploded from her seat. “Adhi!”
The females rushed to surround her.
Tiegan’s spine dagger grew, along with his other comrades.
“What is the matter?” Si-Moon asked.
“I had a dream,” Adhi whispered, trembling. “A terrible dream.”
Sim-pony soothed her back. “It’s okay. It was just a nightmare.”
“No. It was more than that.” She gripped Sim-pony’s shoulder. “It was real.”
“What happened?” Sah-ah asked, her eyebrows touching.
Adhi turned and stared into the distance. “I saw a great evil coming to this planet.” She swallowed. “To defeat them, all the Plutonians must join together. The good and the bad.”
“The bad?” Sim-pony frowned. “You mean the ones who want us dead?”
“We’ll need everyone to fight in this war. Because it is coming.” She stared at Tiegan. “And it will be here soon.”
He glanced at Sim-pony. He sensed her dread and he hoped she could feel his answering determination.
Perhaps Adhi had seen the future.
But whatever war was coming, he would not let any harm come to the humans or to his intera-won.
His mate.
His Sim-pony.
