Story: Liberate Us
I shook myhead at his innuendo.
Me: Seeyou then.
I was goingto respond and tell him that he didn’t have to pick me up and I could take acab home, but to have a chance at being alone with him? There was no way Iwould turn that shit down.
The rest of the night ended up in a blur. I couldn’t overlyconcentrate, knowing full well how the time after my shift was going to bespent.
By the time one in the morning rolled around, I quickly said byeto Shawnee and made my way out of the club, knowing she would ask questions ifI stayed.
When I left the building, I was met by a man who had invaded mybody a few days ago. Sammy was standing by his bike, puffing on a smoke. Hewore his leather cut with a black hoodie and ripped blue jeans. The granitelines of his face seemed to be softer tonight for whatever reason.
As I approached him, I was thankful that I didn’t drive my cartonight. It was like fate had a way of pushing Sammy and me together, since I’dalready decided to take a cab so I could have a drink after my shift ended.
When Sammy caught me approaching, he stood up taller and threwhis smoke to the ground.
“Hi,” I said, closing that last little distance between us.
He hooked an arm around my middle and pulled me against him in arough move.
I gasped, slapping my hands against his hard chest.
His eyes dropped to my mouth and just when I thought he wasgoing to kiss me like I had wanted all along, he lowered his lips to my earinstead.
“Miss me?”
A breathless laugh left me as his beard tickled my ear. “Yeah. You?”
“Oh yeah.” His hand reached under my skirt, grabbing a fistfulof my rear and lifting me onto the seat of his bike. He pushed his way betweenmy knees, his mouth finding the spot at the base of my throat. A low moan lefthim. It rumbled through me to the point it sounded like a purr. “I like thislook,” he mumbled against my skin. “This shirt does wonders for your tits.”
A breathless laugh left me. The black pleated skirt was short, and I had settled for a white V-neck t-shirt. It was comfortable but apparentlysexy.
“Sam,” I whispered, running my fingers through his hair.
He lifted his head just enough that he could look into my eyes.
“Kiss me.” It was a plea for more. From him. From life. I wasn’tsure. But I wanted something. We had a connection, that part was true, and wedefinitely couldn’t deny the attraction between us. But I wanted to feel hislips on mine. His tongue deep in my mouth as he roamed his hands over my body.
He lowered his mouth to my throat. His teeth nipped, his lipssucked, and his tongue licked. The movements caused this undying want to brewfrom somewhere deep inside of me.
“Sam.” Itilted my head to the side, giving him better access. “Please.”
“No.” Hegrabbed a handful of my hair and tugged my head back. “No kissing.”
“But—” Whena throat cleared close by, I jumped. I expected Sammy to move away from me butinstead, he turned to look at whoever interrupted us and stepped between myknees.
“What thefuck do you want?” he demanded.
“Am Iinterrupting?” Will.Shit.
“Yes, youare actually.” Sammy turned his back to me, so if I wanted to see Will, I wouldactually have to look around Sam to do so. It felt like maybe he was trying toprotect me. Will had his hands on me not too long ago without my permission andthat bothered Sam. I wondered if there was another reason for that or if he hadseen it in others he knew.
“You seeRed anywhere? She usually works until one and Shawnee said she left already.”
“Yes, I’veseen Red.” Sammy reached behind him.
I took hishand, linking my fingers between his. I wasn’t sure why, but that action aloneforced a lump to my throat. But setting those feelings aside, I had to focus onthe here and now. I didn’t know what Will wanted. Not completely anyway.
“Is thather behind you?” Will asked.
