Two. He is a monster with money.
A lot of times, those are the scariest and worst kinds of men, those with money. They don’t fear things they should, like normal people do.
CHAPTER3
Niki
Watching Sage Porter has been a hobby of mine since the very first time her father reneged on our deal. She’s tall, her skin is a sun kissed sienna hue, with breasts a man could spend years worshipping. Her legs have her coming in at five feet eight inches, or at least that’s what the DMV has her listed as. Watching her is one of my favorite past times.
Rarely have I been in actual contact. Sometimes, she’ll be shopping in a mall, and I’ll be there quietly watching.
She may even order food at her favorite restaurant,The Bear and the Bee, and I am there taking note of how she swirls her wine three times before taking a sip.
Sage is an enigma to me. A very strange puzzle that is mine to solve.
She left home the moment she graduated and started stripping at the club she now co-owns. She has also been taking online classes to get her Bachelor’s in Business at East Houston University. She remains close with her grandmother, Iris, on her mother’s side and her sister lives in Paris. She has a best friend that works at The Crescent named Silver and her cousin Reese is a housewife.
I’m sitting in my car across the street from her house, when she pulls in. It’s late and no one is out. The reason I know what time she gets home is because I have her schedule memorized, not that its hard. Sage leaves The Crescent in her grey Mercedes every night at 2:30 am, and Gio the bouncer walks her to her car. By 2:55 am she is in her driveway, cautiously looking around before going into her house.
She’s been on high alert since I woke her a few nights ago.
Tonight, I won’t break into her house.
Tonight, I walk up to her door and knock.
She’s on edge and I don’t care. I like that she’s a little bit afraid of me because not much scares her. After all, she shot and killed a local gang member and had his body disposed of.
The door to her home makes my knocks seem muffled. Above me, the door light flickers on and a crack appears in the door.
“Go away,” Sage says. “I have a gun.”
I smirk. “So do I.”
She pauses and I hear her breathing heavy and know her hearts probably beating a mile a minute. I lean in closer, and can smell her perfume. She smells like vanilla and jasmine. She smells sweet, like a cupcake.
“Open the door for me Kitten, don’t make me angry,” I tell her.
She blinks widely at me and then steps back.
Once I’m inside she stares up at me, and I walk towards her. She’s so fucking beautiful; I could fuck her up against the wall right here and now. I could take what should already be mine.
I don’t.
Someone already did that to her once.
For now, she’s safe, even if she has no clue that that is the case.
“What are you doing in my house again?”
“At least I knocked this time?” I remind her with a shrug and offer a smile.
She swallows and then I see the gun hanging by her side. “You did.”
I come in slightly closer. “The marriage, kitten is happening. Please don’t force my hand, Sage.”
She chokes on a laugh, and then presses the gun into my stomach.
“You’re a fucking psychopath.”
